In his deluded eyes it worked last week when freeman came on and he proved a few fans wrong...

Did it not work tonight??

the negativeness today was terrible. we are 1nil up against a fairly poor peterborough side and then sit back and let them get at us .
i have to blame clough for this today im a fan of clough and believe he is the right man to take us forward but for god sake clough stop the HOOF and stop the sitting back!

That's what he does, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. League 1, not Chumpionship Nigel.

We should have fucking tried to kill the game off when it was 1-0 instead of sitting back.

He said Coutts was suffering with a virus since Saturday and looked shocking at half time and needed to come off, so why pick him in the first place.

He said McNulty was poor, which i thought he was only poor because of shite service he got.

And then why not replace Done when he was blowing out of his arse with Che Adams, instead of his favourite Freeman.

He has got it wrong tonight.

Their liability defender who was getting ran ragged by Done ended up upfront for them FFS!

He was that much of a liability, that he swept up almost everything that came his way in the air.

Tonight was a display of Cloughs weakness as a Manager. His 'play it safe and nick a result' mentality truly backfired on him and I hope he has the character to reflect and take responsibility for the defeat tonight.

This is the way Clough teams play. Apart from a couple of seasons in non league it hasn't worked - hence his very average - at best - management record. He needs to change - but it's unlikely.

He was extremely poor with the ball at his feet. We should have kept the pressure on him.

He was laughing his head off at the full time whistle.

As much as I like Sparky, he was tonight. The front two didn't move particularly well and the positioning was poor regardless of the lack of service.

He was brought off after 3 times in a row opting to panic and flick the ball towards a Posh defender first time instead of bringing it down and trying to play.

Personally, I'd have probably have replaced him with Adams, but I could understand the substitution.

He was pub league standard. Shocking.

Not saying he was a good player, yet he swept up everything we threw at him except for the goal. He won pretty much every ball aimed at Done in the first half without breaking a sweat.

He was about 8 foot tall so of course he would win most balls in the air. But he generally headed it nowhere - and on the floor he was absolutely terrible. Done wasn't at his best but he took the piss out of him for his goal - and was clearly our best hope. To take Done off having already taken off McNulty was ludicrous. But that's Clough for you. Why try and win 2-0 when you might be able to nick it 1-0?

Done was blowing out of his arse with all the long balls he was chasing.
When he did get the ball no support from Mcnulty who was way off the pace tonight.
Inviting them on at 1-0 unbeleivable .
The hoof tactics tonight was sickening

Lack of space and composure with the 4 in midfield results in balls backwards or hopeful longer balls forward.

Leading 1-0 and then making the final substitution to finish the game with this team:

Turner
Brayford Basham McEveley Harris
Flynn Reed Doyle Holt Freeman
Murphy

Physical strength apart, on paper it's not catastrophic, and the tactic was probably to find Murphy with a through ball and let the rest work hard to preserve the lead. Flynn's injury must have made it difficult as the - only - attacking plan went out the window and I can see a lot of nerves and confusion sneaking in (especially in that midfield) when that happened.

Nothing bizarre about the sub's. Coutts and Done were dead and McNulty having a mare. And the masses can bleat all they like but 4-4-2 does not suit our men

5's and 6's out of 10 across the board.

Even Murph and Bray, often the ray of light during shit games, went AWOL second half.

Took off both strikers and sat back, inviting Peterborough on - when we should have tried to make it 2-0 and game over. Flynn's injury didn't help but Clough's negative approach cost us again.

Lots of analysis, lots of it probably correct. But overall, just about everyone had an off day. Too many high balls after publicly conceding that we can't win that battle - baffling.

Coutts was piss poor again. This time it's a virus. Last time some other niggle. If he isn't fit, don't play him, because strip away reputation his contribution so far has been way short of third division promotion standard.

McNulty was very poor, almost matched by the quality of ball through to him.

Hoooof!

You create your space with passing and movement.
We should have been punished a good few times getting caught in possession they were instances where we should have got shut.
