Is this the shortest gap we've ever had between home and away league matches against the same oppo?

Not sure if any Blades are old enough to actually remember this, but it used to be common for the home fixture to be played on Christmas Day and the away on Boxing Day until they did away with Christmas Day football in the 50s. That's about the only shorter gap I can think of and I'm not sure it should count for this discussion.

Actually though if you go back to the 1950s it was traditional to play the same opponents in a league games on Christmas day and the return fixture on Boxing Day

We played fucking leeds twice in two days in scheduled fixtures in April 1974. Drew 0-0 up there but lost 2-0 the following day in a Tuesday night game.

We played Man City twice in quick succession in Wilder's first Prem season. Twice in 23 days it was.

In 1962 I think that was the year we played Man Utd away on Easter Monday followed by playing them at home on Easter tuesday
