...next season:

A powerful but mobile central defender. Bartley looked the part on Saturday and can only improve. A season loan? Otherwise Mills perhaps?

A skilful creative midfielder who can get about the pitch as well. I've always admired Pratley and he did nothing to put me off on Saturday. In the light of Willo's long term injury I would take a chance on Harper with a short - term deal to see if a full pre-season with us could possibly revitalise him. Brian Stock, if he shows a full recovery from his back injury, is certainly another to consider.

A goalscorer - The lad Hooper at Scunthorpe looks a natural to me. Very lively, mobile and knows where the back of the net is.

Pinchy - can I have some of what you've been supping please?

I agree though, Mills, Pratley and Hooper would be very nice!

You are forgetting that anyone who comes to BDTBL with a good pedigree/promise will very quickly have it kicked out of them, (see Evans, Cotterill, Howard, Sharp....need I go on?)

Get rid of Blackwell/Ellis then maybe we can start to build a decent team.

I agree totally with Pratley. I have said since Swansea got promoted that we should try and sign him. I wasn't there on Saturday but I remember seeing how much he dominates a midfield.

Aye, which is why...

Cotterill ripped us apart on Saturday, beating our out of position centre-half stand in's time after time ;)

Howard performed exactly how all the dingle season ticket holders told me he would, had the odd decent game when on telly, but the rest of the time was a passenger who's main and only use was to win the odd free kick.

I'll give you Sharp and Evans suddenly "under-performing" with the Blades though, even though I think all Chedwyn needs is a goal and a bit of confidence to get him firing.

Pratley and Hooper would both cost at least £2m and clubs in a stronger financial position than us will be interested in them. How much are some of you estimating we have to spend? Even if we sold a couple of our assets, we still couldn't afford the £5m it'd take to land those three.

I think Nosworthy would be a brilliant signing but again I think that's unlikely due to his wages. Other potential defensive additions are Chris Riggott and Johannes Ertl - both out of contract. Franck Quedrue is another and Lee Collins from Port Vale has been getting rave reviews. Ibrahima Sonko would also fit the bill. For the right back position both Kyle Naughton and Seamus Coleman would be excellent loan signings. Extending Naysmith's contract would also be a massive boost and should be one of the priorities.

In midfield, Monty's contract has to be the priority, but we'll still need to add to that area, especially after Williamson's injury. Andy Dorman from St Mirren is a good all round midfielder and is out of contract, there won't be a shortage of interest though. And a player I wanted us to sign last year, Paul Green, could be a possibility as Derby are looking to sell a few players. Gary Teale, Albert Adomah, Yannick Bolasie and Ishmel Demontagnac are all out of contract and I'd be looking at bringing in two of them. Alan Judge could be another possibility for the right.

I think Henderson and Camara will be leaving so that'd leave us with three strikers. I'd take Chris Dagnall from Rochdale and Richard Brodie from York. Both different types of strikers to what we'll already have.

As mentioned elsewhere- midfielder, still young, with Premiership experience? Darren Ambrose anybody?

If Yeates can turn on some on some of his second half performance on Saturday into regular games at that level on the left wing and a fit Wardy on the right, you've got the supply lines in to a reinvigorated Billy, who will have plenty to prove. The Hooper-man would be an interesting move, but I think we'll get priced out of the market.Hence,Le Fondre,Dagnall or Brett Pitman might be a cheaper alternative.

I would take Ambrose like a shot. However, I fear we might be in the middle of a long queue of clubs trying to tempt him - particularly if the Grunters perform the escape of the century.

Rotherham fan I speak to says ALF is easily good enough for the Championship but would worry that he is too much like Billy Sharp to make the impact at SUFC. Interestingly, he suggested Brett Pitman as a better alternative too.

Danny Rose on a season long loan perhaps? I was thinking Hooper as well. CB - i guess Nosworthy is a good shout.
