Mixed feelings about today, on balance favourable.
A poor first half performance, which lacked passion and endeavour, very disappointing show. Joined a long queue at half time for a Bovril and never made it to the front before the start of the second half. Crap service.
Higginbottom looked solid and strong, a good sensible signing in my book. (Well done DW) The two young players did not seem out of place, baptisms of fire as well, in a difficult derby match away from home.
Flynn never got going (He just seems too small, a bit of a lightweight) and there was no service to Kitson who didn't do much at all as a result.
Cofie came on and I am sure if there were pockets in his shorts he would have walked around with his hands in them. He just did not seem interested. Ironside must be ahead of him now, he really gave 100%. He should be rewarded with promotion up the pecking order.
To be honest we were lucky not to have been three, or maybe four down before Blackman converted the penalty late in the second half.
Don't know who scored the
winner equaliser, as the ball bobbled around the goal mouth, bounced of the post and then was in the net. Cue mentalist style celebrations, climbed on the back of this old fella in front (He was probably only a bit older than me) and together we jumped up and down like two young zoots, much to his wife's amusement.
A moment to remember from this season, and made up for the £11 car park ticket. The shitty two mile walk back to catch the train back to the car. Not a bad stadium, but in the middle of knowhere, terrible to access and leave.
Thumbs up for an enjoyable few beers in the Plough, before the match, and a shout for the fellas I shared a cab with to the ground (Blades and two young Donny fans who jumped in.)
A good point for sure, which seemed like a win. Glum Donny faces at FT. Tee hee.
