Thought it was a good game

Lost too many second balls in the first half

Said Long was good, made a good punch for their first goal and was commanding. Looks like will retain the number one spot

Not worried about Dean Hammond. Does a lot of work off the ball people dont see

Gotta hang on in there

Have to get behind the players

Standard fare for football managers. Still he is "a good talker"

Exactly. NA was interviewed at 5 to 6, I went for a slash and when I got back to listen to the rest of P & G (probably like a lot of the 19k+ getting in from the Lane, Barnsley Chesterfield & Donny fans) they had fucking Northern Soul on.

Then I remembered. Wednesday hadn't played, so fuck the majority of local football fans. Let's cater for a few dozen Oxford bag-wearing, outdated sad cunts. It's not 'soul'. It's not even music.

Anyway, must go. I think 'Eastern Air' is about to start.

His description of Hammond's contribution seems at odds with mine. And I made an effort to pay attention to what he was doing.

Looking at his signings none of them have been a success and most of them can't even get a starting shirt.

Don't trust him in JTW to spend wisely if he is given owt.

Did anyone ask him any of the following questions?
Why he thinks Neil Collins is good enough to play at this level?
Why he plays a right footed wide man on the left wing for the whole 90 minutes?
Why he thinks Billy Sharp is a target man?
Why he didn't bring Sammon on in order to give Sharp some service?
What Coutts does in his day job?
What has Kieron Wallace done wrong?
Wouldn't he rather see his midfield stars actually doing things on the ball?
Who he thinks he's kidding when he says George Long is a decent keeper?

No? I didn't think so.

Hammond is a huge disappointment. I think Coutts brings little to our game but even he would get in the side before Hammond.

Why isn't Reed being given a chance, at least he brings a little pace and movement to things.

Can anybody tell me what Hammond does for a living?

I actually thought he improved as the game wore on and had his best game so far. Not exactly a pacy midfield dynamo, I will grant you, but better than in recent games.

The trouble is that Coutts is also slow so I'm not convinced about them as a pairing.

Thought Adams lost interest in the second half and especially if any headers were needed. He should have put Sammon on with 20 minutes to go and given Billy a bit more freedom to upset them.

Just my two penneth.

He thought the little Southend lad Payne was a real pain, why was that was it because our two geriatric centre midfielders (Coutts + Hammond) could not cope with his movement and speed.

Hi fellow blades i thought 1st half was shocking same as usual but for me 2nd half was best we have played at home this season also Hammond improved as the game wore on maybe he's getting fitter .post 3 times we should have taken 3 pts based on 2nd half performance.

No. Because most of that is total nonsense.

Thanks. I think that's a fair assessment of the game.

The problem is more a case of we don't see him do enough of anything, with or without the ball. We took ages waiting for someone to make themselves available to receive a throw in with Hammond the nearest. He was marked but in acres of space. All he needed to do was move into the available space to receive it even if it was just to play the ball back to the thrower.

Atkins must have seen that, it was right in front of him. That was one of many examples of him either not concentrating or not trying.

If we are told that we can't have new (hopefully better)players until we ship some out, then Dean looks an obvious target to send him back to Leicester and free up a considerable wage.

Did anyone tell you Collins got the leveller today?

Entertaining game still feel our defensive back 4 liabilities yet again cost us the 3pts we are just far easy to breach Although despite 2-2 happier than v Worcester . Because was to see us on front foot, attacking teams instead of countering shame it took us to concede 2 goals to do that but we probably couldve won with chances in final 20 mins

thought the 1st Southend goal shouldve been disallowed. Because of the 2/3 people crowding him. & i must say that baxter has been fantastic last few months as he's excelled in his CM role, which is something Hammond is because I dont get what he brings if he's fit would rather have wallacw or reed

something ive noticed I think we are an anxious crowd & intimidating atmosphere doesnt return unless we in adversity

Thought Hammond did well,

At what stage?

Baxter was our MoM as he was good today and Coutts did alright but Hammond brought nothing.

What summed up Hammond today was when he turned his man in the middle of the park, no-one to challenge him in front, options available for us, and instead of driving and finding a forward player, he turned back and sent it sideways. Always the easy ball. Killed our forward momentum.

He brings nothing to the team. And all this talk of his "leadership" ability. He was as quiet as the rest of them when we went 2 down.
Waste of wage, waste of a shirt.

2/3 people crowding who? Nobody touched Long!!

So with 35 minutes on the clock, were you thinking to yourself "this is a good game"?? We were very very lucky to be going in with the scores level at the break. It was a truly shocking first half performance. Let's not kid ourselves otherwise

It's a funny old game, seriously. Shocking first half and we score two, much better in the second and we didn't score at all :-)

The worry is that we might have already done that deal.

Paul Coutts must love Dean Hammond.
