Listening to Edwards and Staton whinge on last night was about as insightful as me delivering a lecture on quantum physics. Of those who went, how did some of the peripheral players perform?

Be interested to know how Scougall, Sammon and Wallace in particular got on as they are players who offer us the mobility (less so Sammon admittedly) we lack in our first choice XI. How did Kennedy do?

Are you certain of that?

Stick the ball in one end and keep it out of the other.

I thought Wallace showed in patches that f is greater than f0, and therefore, the energy hf was enough to send a pass sideways over several yards. The ejected ball showed a kinetic energy, EK, which is, at most, equal to the photon's energy minus the energy needed to dislodge the ball from the boot:

Sammon was pants as usual.

Although he went missing for periods, Scougal looked most likely attack wise for us, ran at the defence a few times and was in a great position late on when Baxter failed to find him with a through ball from about 15 yards. Conditions were pretty bad so our 'hump it up to Sammon' (and Done) didn't do him any favours although his touch was dodgy at best for most of the game.

I thought Reed was MOM first half, didn't see Wallace much for 1st 30 mins but looked good after that but clearly not match fit. As some keep saying, definitely a player in there if only......

Looked like Tel has piled a few pounds on, solid enough but alongside McEveley and McGahey we looked very slow at the back albeit our reserve defence.

Unfortunately, it looked like same old to me, lots of passing across the back and not much going forward, although to be fair, we had a few out of position, a few coming back from injury and not the best conditions so we shouldn't have expected much.

Edwards said in commentary that Scoogs was the only one really looking to get forward.

Here's an insightful comment from someone who went last night: It was wank.

Scougall struggled, Sammon did ok, and James Wallace, along with Kennedy was probably the best of the bunch.

Last night midfield & goalkeeper George long came out with much credit Wallace & Reed kept possession well, scougall did well 1 of few wanting to run at defence. baxter did make a difference wouldve probably been better on Half time instead of 10 mins but we needed to get Wallace match fit. I thought Both teams poor in attack didnt offer much end product, but i feel like a broken record since pre Swindon play offs but every defence with mceveley whove ive no confidence in. frightens me every game

at least I came to see stadium as well as the match so not as disappointed as I couldve been Because I wanted to see a stadium at the other end of football spectrum I am annoyed because wembley trip was there for taking with barnsley, morecambe & wigan left. but them bleeding Quarter finals for 4th yr in 5 we've been in L1 we fallen

THOSE WHO WENT TO FLEETWOOD

I take my hat off to you ...... respect !!

I wouldn't have gone if SUFC paid for my ticket and let me travel on the team bus. What an embarrassment ......

Tbf to Staton I'm not sure how much whingeing he did.

Edwards otoh moaned almost constantly. Reminded me of Fred Trueman's stints on TMS.

The fans want to see us playing it forwards.

No Keith. *Some* fans want to us playing it forward.

At least one fan thinks that's likely to cede possession and control to the opposition. He wants us retain possession and control the game.

Undoubtedly we could move the ball quicker and sometimes be more incisive.

Time Keith changed his tune and started telling us properly how it was. How we laid siege to Fleetwood from start to finish, playing sublime football. Come on Keith, get those rose tinted glasses on, big it up like Piggy Pearson for the pigs.

That's not the alternative.

Last night at one point he analysed the runs the forwards could make to get on the end of crosses and that was an education.

The rest of the time it was and is just an aimless pointless destructive whinge, often about modern football in general.

Most of the time it just boils.down to: I don't get it so it's crap. It wasn't like that when me and Billy Whitehurst were playing.

An all time hero as a player, but his 'analysis' is pub league standard most of the time.

A couple of mates of mine went and were unanimous that with the exception of Reed, Kieron Wallace and Done ( despite his current lack of form) they would be happy to see the back of the entire starting line up from last night in January. Brutal but sadly probably right

Unfortunately he was a striker and that's all he knows. I bet he didn't even pay attention to team talks etc, just knew he was going to go out, play how he always did and he'd probably score.
I don't resent him making a few quid out of being a legend. What I see as slightly tragic, is that players like Doyle will have earned far more during their careers than Keith ever did.

And I'd rather hear his bollocks than read the bollocks written by posters who don't attend a game but still feel qualified to comment on it.

What a Planck

football is a simple game, we have to turn dominance into goals

simples
we have to put the white leathery thing between the the white posty things

there is no other analysis needed

One point is he doesn't just blindly drone on about the game in front of him - it's often just that the whole of "modern"* football is rubbish. So attendance at the game is optional - even for Keith.

He's clearly got an audience, but like I said he appointed himself on more than one occasion as spokesman for the fans. He's not.

*ie anything since the turn of the century

Tbh, I don't listen to him that much. And when I do, I sometimes think 'ffs, give it a rest' but then I think of his free kicks and his goal against Bristol Rovers and he's forgiven.

Wow. The Bristol Rovers goal. If I had to pick a best goal I've ever seen this would be it. For years I thought I was the only one who'd noticed it. The people who I was with at the time didn't think anything of it. I thought it was Genius from another World. Pele tried something similar once - but missed the target.

Now where's Nade's MS Paint thread?
