Therefore, who has taken him to Barnsley?

Ahh, the annual miss-use of the term "scapegoat". The season starts here.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scapegoat

Once a year, on Yom Kippur, the Cohen Gadol sacrificed a bull as a sin offering to atone for sins he may have committed unintentionally throughout the year. Subsequently he took two goats and presented them at the door of the tabernacle. Two goats were chosen by lot: one to be "for YHWH", which was offered as a blood sacrifice, and the other to be the scapegoat to be sent away into the wilderness. The blood of the slain goat was taken into the Holy of Holies behind the sacred veil and sprinkled on the mercy seat, the lid of the ark of the covenant. Later in the ceremonies of the day, the High Priest confessed the intentional sins of the Israelites to God placing them figuratively on the head of the other goat, the Azazel scapegoat, who would symbolically "take them away".

So the 'non-scape goat' gets slain whilst the 'scapegoat' gets to wander around eating juicy cacti.

This begs the question, that of Long, Brayford and Sharp, who would survive best on a diet of desert plants? An interesting biological debate no doubt, but perhaps not 100% germane to the discussion above.

It's become fashionable to stab Billy Sharp in the back I know that much, doesn't matter that he was the top scorer and only one who could come out of last season with his head held high. The cretins have been sharpening the knives for him since Grimsby (yes, that game where he scored twice).

Unfortunately, the Unitedites with the loudest voices are the ones who are scum.

Right, looks like it could be Billy Sharp then.
There have been some ridiculous hissy fits on here in the last week but if we are being realistic the critisism of Long and Brayford is getting hard to defend. Long is a talented shot stopper but the command of his box and all round consistency is poor and we have seen no improvement. I like the Beard, he has shown us he's a class act but for some reason his form has dipped badly and we haven't seen him at his best for sometime now. He has it in him and because of that he is probably being afforded more time but he has to improve and fast. As for Long as much as we would love him to be successful with us, he just doesn't appear good enough.
