People seem to forget that in the 2018-19 promotion season we were shite up until Christmas.

When we lost 1-2 to West Brom in December, they looked a class above us. I would have laughed my tits off if you would have told me after that we'd get automatic promotion that season.

It's a funny old game.

Theres very little between 12 to 14 clubs of which we are one
A run of 5 or 6 wins for any thrusts them into contention
West Brom looked very ordinary last night and created very little Stoke worked harder and got the reward for it.
Energy alone lifts you above the ordinary in this league

No we weren’t shite before Christmas ffs - we just weren’t at WBA n Leeds n Norwich level then and we had our shite moments in the new year as well
 
Anyone beats anyone in this league, which is why people shouldn’t get too hung up on the boro result.
West Brom lose at home to stoke
Fulham have lost to both reading and Blackpool-imagine the meltdown on here if we’d have lost to Blackpool!
Bourmouth drew 0-0 with peterboro other day, who we put 6 past!

Nah we weren’t shite, we were always in the mix around the top. We found a new level after the New Year though, we only lost one game didn’t we? (Bristol City H).

I'd clearly had a few yesterday but the sentiment remains..

This league is far from stitched up in a week when Fulham and West brom can both drop points after seeming untouchable.

My dream of seeing us go up in the play offs (I know) might have to be shelved for everybody else's favourite way of going up..

Never mind, players need to know that both those teams are catchable.. Because they are UTFB..
 
cant see anybody troubling fulham west brom or bournemouth for top 3 places but other 3 are up for grabs for any of the other teams still fancy us to be battling for the play offs especially if we bring a couple of new faces in next january
 
I'm still fairly confident in my pre-season prediction - 5th.

I think we will continue to be patchy in the coming weeks but will keep in touch with the top six. I think Slav will have a more settled side by January and will also have an idea about the type of player or two he needs to further improve us at that point. If he gets those, then I think we'll continue to improve and finish the season far stronger than we started it but we will be too far adrift of the top two to make significant ground on them.

I don't see us finishing any lower than 8th. I'd be astounded and disappointed if we did. I think we really should have enough for a top 6 challenge and if we do make the play-offs, perhaps we'll actually win one this time.
 
I hate to be the voice of negativity (I’m normally a 100% ‘clapper’) but does anyone else get the feeling that it’s reached the point that getting into the playoffs is a futile exercise as we’re destined to fail in them for all eternity?

I think West Brom' and Bournemouth will fall away - Fulham are the one to chase imo

defeats happen
remember how we had blown it challenging leeds for automatic with 1 defeat.then they had 4 defeats with a "better" side

we were not poor at Boro but were not clinical,on the night they had 2 clinical finishes
 
TBH cant see S6 🐷‘s winning it
 
if we can get mcburnie and brewster firing and know thats a long shot cant see us not finishing top 6
 
Blimey if Davies and Eagan had made a cock up like that Fulham pair today this place would have melted down….
