While watching the Man U-Man City match last night I noticed the City fans singing.....

"This City is ours....
This City is ours....
F**k off back to London....
This City is ours...."

and I quite like it.....i've heard Liverpool sing it to Everton too, but using Kirby instead of London.

Could United adopt it? using Barnsley as the place?

What tune?

how can it be ours ?

Contrary to popular believe Manchester United do not have a greater percentage of fans from outside the area than any clubs. I think the last survey carried out it was Leeds Utd who had the more supportes outside their area.

Is it me or do manchester and liverpool sides generally have some really good and comical songs

I wouldn't put Everton in that bracket. The only two things they ever shout are 'Booooooooooooooo' and 'Handball'

Yeah I know a few Everton fans and they are amongst the most ungrateful fans in the country, they see themselves as victims, whereas actually they're punching well above their weight and living off the 80's - Like Forest.

But Everton have some funny songs in response to Liverpool's.

I like it why not just sing "F off to Hillsborough" instead of "Barnsley" although I like that version as well. I live in Barnsley and the area is full of grunters, as well as Dingles of course

Pretty ironic song for Liverpool to sing at Everton anyway. Liverpool have far more fans from outside Liverpool than Everton do.

Having lived in Manchester, I can certainly vouch for the fact that there are plenty of Man U fans there. The years of greater success have meant they certainly have more than 50% of Mancunian football fans (albeit with much of their support being the armchair element).

To be honest, while it's a nice idea for a song, I think it would sound a bit weak if we sang it. We all know that while Wednesday have plenty of fans from outside Sheffield, so do we - and that each have roughly 50% of people in Sheffield. These songs only work if you hit a nerve, and I don't think it would achieve that.

But a version of this to Wednesday....Man City fans chanting to United (off of the bBC Sports Quotes page).

"U-N-I-T-E-D
That spells (flipping) debt to me,
With a knick knack paddywhack, give a dog a bone,
Ocean Finance on the phone."
