Not wishing to open old wounds, or serve up cold the actions of a few dedicated suporters against the appointmment of Danny Wilson;whatever the end result. the boy's done good. I believe he will see it through and get us automatic promotion. Under the circumstances surrounding his appointment. he has shown P for pride I for Integrity and G for guts If he is a pig, he is our pig.

Talking of positivity, I'm getting fed up with the air of inevitability over us losing Ched at the end of the season. Granted his court case is preventing us formulating a new deal for him, but I'll be pissed off (to say the least) if we meekly let him go for nothing in the summer.

There's every chance of us getting back to where we belong - the Championship. I say 'belong' because it's a good division - full of big-ish teams who will bring good followings. We don't really want the Premiership while it continues to be a private club for the big boys where the rest just hope to survive and hope the refs don't fiddle them to often. The same goes for Wednesday, although I'm sure they think their natural home is the Champions League.

Southampton didn't flog Lambert as soon as they got out of Division 3, and look at them now. Ditto, Norwich held on to their better players and they've gone straight through to the PL.

In summation (m'lud), letting Ched go would be an absurdly short-term measure. Instead, let's get up, keep Ched and look to strengthen (which we'll inevitably need to) with, say, Kevin Philips among a few others.

Kevin Phillips will be 39 by the start of next season .

So if you want to be in the Champ.... and liken it to Saints and Norwich keeping their players and getting promoted, why do you want to keep Ched?

I think the PL is where we should aim, and we should look to keep Ched (wages permitting)

Real nice to hear! This gets my vote too - the proof's in the pudding and the pudding tastes pretty good to me (at least at the mo...) :p

But if he's out of contract then the ball is really in his court. I don't know about the players you mention from Soton and Norwich BUT if they are in contract you can pretty much keep them (despite what some people think about contracts) but if they're not then they can choose any offer that comes their way.
