Also remember in the 70's we played at Cardiff and a copper stood in the middle of the Blades fans he was also an ex Blades player.

That was Dave Powell who was an excellent defender. His knee injury at QPR in March 1971 curtailed his career despite a few games for Cardiff after leaving us

John Tudor ran a pub in Ilkeston for a short while apparently.

He took over the Rock Tavern in Dronfield in late 1992 before moving to USA in mid 1993. I was in touch with him for a few years when he moved to Newcastle in 1971. He was delighted to see me again and often allowed me to stay in the pub after closing time. He and his wife, Christine are a lovely couple

Wasn't that Len Badger?
He started with the Sidings in Dronfield in 1982 before moving to the Peacock in Barlow (my dad played in the Darts and Dominoes team for that pub at the time) and then to Fox and Goose in Old Brampton before retiring

Thanks for the clip Darren, much appreciated.

Yesteryear never a penalty, these days not so sure.
Hangs head in shame was one of those few dozen Blades fans , young and stupid then , now just old and stupid according to our old lass . :(
Looks a peno to me though .

That other Geoff, Hurst had a pub out in Derbyshire I think.

He definitely ran a pub called the Sheet Anchor at Baldwin's Gate just outside stoke (see what I did there), when he was at Stoke City.

I went in there with some friends in the mid-70s and he was serving behind the bar. I spent the rest of the evening being awestruck that the only man in the entire history of football to have scored a hat trick in the World Cup final had handed me my change. I was so impressed I never even checked it :-)

Harold Brook ran a sports outfitters with Jimmy Hagan on London Road for a number of years. They also used to serve in the shop as well.Well remember going in and the " great Jimmy Hagan" served me with some Subbuteo equipment for the table top game.
UTB
Got my first" case" ball - ask your Dad you young 'uns - from that shop when my Dad took me round there and it was Jimmy who served us. I was about seven I think and lived just round the corner in Pearl Street.

Haha - we had a "casey" complete with laces at my grandma's from my dad and his brother's childhood.

I cannot remember but in the 70's on a return journey from a away game we stoped for a drink in the Derby area as we entered the pub there was loads of Blades things the publican was an ex player forgot who :-( but we endered up staying longer than planned. Also remember in the 70's we played at Cardiff and a copper stood in the middle of the Blades fans he was also an ex Blades player.

The copper was Dave Powell.
