This is the first time during a run up to a World Cup where I have next to no enthusiasm. That might change once it starts, but I have my doubts. Normally a World Cup makes my summer.

I’m the opposite. This shite season has made me more excited for it.

Biggest issue with the world cup is the bloated nature of it now + chance of storms delaying games for me.

It's going to be the first world cup where I will just completely miss some games as they are on at 3am since the 2002 one.
Yes 16 extra teams and over 100 games instead of 64. There was nothing wrong with the original format. Like the Champions League now I probably won't watch until the knockout stages apart from England games, and maybe the opener.

Felt similar before the Qatar World Cup but once it got going it was ok. Only complaint was the constant cutting to the cunt Infantino. Pretty sure it'll be ok again and Infantino surely can't get to all the matches this time round?! 🤣

None of the recent format changes in football have been good

In fact no changes in recent years apart from goal line technology have been undeniably positive

A 100 game world cup will make it too easy to miss games and pay little attention to the ones you watch. It will disengage you

It'll be a sea of shite mainly until the knockout stages

Yeah, they've screwed it up like they have with the Champions League. I've no doubt that the latter stages will be superb when they get to the knockouts, but there's a lot of low pedigree matches in the early stages. There's also a good chance they might have removed the jeopardy of the final group game, which has been very entertaining at the last couple of tournaments.

Its yanks and trump the crazy nation which doesnt enthuse me one bit.

Where as Qatar, Russia were perfectly fine 😉
I think the protestations about Qatar hosting the World Cup were pretty vociferous.

But the USA can’t claim moral superiority when asking for support for their World Cup, but then claim moral equivalence to excuse their crimes…

It’s all well and good saying ‘what about those nations’ and yes both of those nations have well documented issues (putting it lightly) but they at least didn’t have entire bans on fans of nations entering the country, they didn’t have ICE agents chasing people out of the country and they also didn’t charge fans outrageously inflated prices for basic things like travelling, parking, or even entering fan parks - that’s before we get to the ludicrous ticket pricing.

I really enjoyed Qatar. The final was fantastic, one of the best ever. Plus I had backed Argentina at the start of the tournament.

Have plenty of coffee available if your gonna watch England then, lol

I'm with you, normally would be very excited but not bothered at the moment.

I hope that will change when the action starts.

For what it's worth, and I hope I'm wrong, I feel England won't do that well.

England out in the 2nd round, and Tuchel on the front page of the News Of The World for being caught in some Mexican dungeon orgy parlour.

The World cup, Trump and Infantino's corrupt cosying up, the political bin fire that is America can stick both the trophy and that child pacifier peace prize' ( really, just f*ck right off!) from Gianni where the sun don't shine!

It's a condensation of everything that is wrong in the world for me, this time.

Never been less interested or actively hating it as I am right now.

It won't live long in the memory.

Italia '90 or Argentina '78 anyone?
