The Wilder Covenant

If a new manager comes in now he has to work with the same ridiculous squad and he'll probably be cooked by January before he can even sign his own players

We will get the results to stay out of trouble with Wilder, by hook or crook

The fans are simply going to have to stick it out and accept it's a very dour season

Summer is the time to make the change
"Let's sit and wait guys. Its horrid to watch and we have a proper chance of going down, but maybe he'll come good - if not, we move him on in the summer"

What’s always puzzled me is the fact we didn’t bring Knill back when we reinstated Wilder. (Unless we did try and it was something I totally missed 🤔). Knill was the brains and tactical know how in Wilders glory days with us, and doesnt it half show now. Infuriating today 😡
Knillys happy at Huddersfield 😆

No money whatsoever is a stretch.

Do you think we are paying the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Hamza Choudhury and Matt Doherty in magic beans?
Not by magic beans but by selling the likes of Hamer, O’Hare, Brooks.
Plus c’mon, even you just know we ain’t paying much for Kalvin, he’s on like £152k pw. I’d be surprised if we are paying more than 20% of his wages.

Even just now, the owners pulling the rug/throwing him under the bus excuse is going strong on FB amongst the more staunch Wilderites.

£30k a week is still more than we were paying each of Brooks, Hamer and O’Hare. Far above the average salary in the league.

We will be paying more out for the three of those I mentioned, plus Ayew than Lincoln’s starting XI are, so let’s not pretend we are the paupers of the league all of a sudden.

I've not watched any of the games so I can only go on the match stats, line up and peoples opinions
But I feel like his recruitment as been awful, obviously wilder didn't want to lose coh and harmer but he didn't bring in any players to fill that potential void and now we are left with a unbalanced team, that (well going on our possession) aren't comfortable with holding onto the ball.
He's brought in his pals but his pals aren't performing for him.
I'm concerned about the rest of the season if we get hit with any points reduction I fear the worst.
But if we can get a few wins I'll feel different.

Well, exactly - if a new manager couldn't even use January then the current squad have the whole season to get him sacked and not just 3 months

The owners need to be using the time this season to plan and prepare properly - because change is needed throughout
The second paragraph is spot on. Trouble is they should have done this when they took over. Whole structure and the small time attitude of this club needs to change

The season so far and the previous 2

We continuously play shite but nick points

We just won't do it at the right end of the league anymore because we've castrated ourselves
You can't keep outperforming xG like we are trying to do

You can't win games having 8 shots

You can't not concede goals if your keeper is facing 15+ shots a game

You can't see games if you can't keep the ball

I mean, I can carry on but I won't

I think this actually works for both sides. Those thinking a new manager will somehow turn this around with this squad, working with no money whatsoever, and under this clueless board, are in for a shock when it happens (again).
Correct and depressing in equal measure. The board are less trustworthy than Wilder.

The thought of who they might bring in is equally horrendous.

The club is rotten

You have a lot more faith is the rest of the team under the current manager and coaching set up than me
Cooper, Tanganga, McGuinness and Kitching isn't a relegation base

Peck, Phillips, Seriki, Burrows, McCallum, Bamford, Donovan, Oné

it's more than enough, even if they're hamstrung by our fear football philosophy

There's enough professional pride to not get relegated

My main worry is our home form - we are weak as fuck there with disengaged supporters and it's an easy place for away teams now

I think we'll be about 16th

I've never been into football stats like some have but there are certain stats you simply can't argue against. Some of those you mention have been abysmal all season and it's hard to see how they will improve much.

The irony of the OP is that it is the "we should be doing miles better lot" that are on the deludenum like our neighbours. Football players win and lose football matches. Ours aren't very good. Therein lies a wee problem. The other irony is that they're a cult obsessed with the bloke just like the pigs. Maybe more so..

Think you’re the only one banging the drum now mate.

Pal of mine stayed in the Raddison Blue last night at East Midlands before an early morning flight and sent me a pic of Wilder, as the team must have flown down this morning. He said they were all on the Moretti. After that performance the must have drank it dry.

Really? I'm sure one of them you're banking on is currently sat joint 3rd

I'm not banking on anyone.

We proved in the first six games that we can pick up points with two wins and three draws.

It's gonna be a slog and we're gonna lose a lot of games but we should still have enough to stay away from 22nd.

Should. But I have no faith in them to do so.

Knill was the boss at Bury with Wilder has his number 2 . Perhaps they were onto something 🤔

This

We picked up points in our 1st 6 games despite our performance, not because of our performance

We are now seeing the results we deserve

Lose vs Lincoln, and we can very easily, and it becomes untenable for Wilder

We’re the worst team in the Championship at the moment.

This is not the worst squad in the Championship. Not by a long shot.

This is it for me. I get people thinking it's not the right time to change but nobody can say we're getting the best out of this group of players. People talk like we have Wednesday's squad last season and I can only think it's to protect the manager.

There's reasons to give him more time but I don't think anybody can seriously say we're not underperforming
