Surely if the board had been that impressed with Morgan and if he had interviewed well then they would have just given him the job by now instead of waiting around to speak to other managers. He obviously can't be their number 1 choice and if he does end up getting it i imagine it will because nobody else wants it.

The club would have been "slaughtered" by the vast majority of fans, me included, if they'd done that.

He can easily be their number one choice if it's from a pool of 1. The whole point of it it to widen the choice.
