The edge.
If ,in the unfortunate circumstance that we dont gain promotion the first time round, what would you change?
A new manager?,a totally new squad?
I for one would love to see danny stay on,even if the `unthinkable `does happen, the man has overcome hostilities, inherited a squad very low on confidence and spent bugger all and still strengthened-id love to see us do it-just for him cos i think he deserves it.
utb.

If the unthinkable does happen, then we can kiss goodbye to a promotion tilt nest season. We'll be starting next season minus, Ched, Macca, and probably williamson and Quinn as well. Doesn't bode well does it?

Def not the time to talk about it with only 5 games to go, but if we must, for me DW must go. He has been lucky to have a squad like this in league 1 and apart from KM and the blackpool pair, his signings have been poor. The three winless streak against teams from the bottom of the league will be DW downfall. Should of won those

I take it you don't like football, then?

Regardless of what happens tonight/rest of the season, I consider promotion is a bare requirement this season.

Saturday v Bournemouth highlighted this. At most, 4/5 players will 'do it' in the Championship. Ched's goal (37 minutes) was our first effort on goal, and it's unlikely he'll be with us next sdeason. Not good enough. And there are times in every home game where we would certainly get punished in the Championship.

Not dissing DW, it's 'horses for courses' and DW is simply not proven at Championship level. Takes balls. It looks like it's paid off for Wednesday but has not for Huddersfield.

With all due respect sir, you are an idiot.
1. He has us playing football with a similar squad that was utter shite last season.
2. We are in league 1, we can only attract a certain calibre of player - Clarke and Phillips were immense signings for this level of football.
3. The players have the belief again.
4. If it weren't for Collins' personal issues and 'that Oldham game' I am positive we'd be pushing Charlton now - you can't blame Danny for losing all of his back 4 in the space of 24 hours surely? Or maybe you could find a way? That would knock any team for 6 be it Man Utd, Barcelona or Sheff Utd.
5. Collins, McGuire, Lowton, Simmo, Willo, Quinn, Doyle, Ched and Cressy all played regular roles in the relegation team. Yet Danny has them playing in a winning way.
6. Get a grip you tool.

even in a season where we've seen some ludicrous sackings, including Wednesday and Hudds getting shot of their man, i still cant believe ud want Wilson out. I always thought Ched would kill it at this level, but aside from that he really has gotten the best out of a decent, but not brilliant, team.

when have u ever seen us bang so many goals in? when have we ever been the 3rd top scorers in Europe? im under 30 so i havent been watching united as long as some of u, but certainly not in my lifetime.

assuming we avoid defeat tonight, we are 2nd.

U find me a United fan who, at the start of the season, wouldnt have taken 2nd with 4 games to go, i will find u a horse with wings.

i was nervous when we appointed him, but hes done superbly. what will it take for some of u to give him credit?

er... In 1997 he took Barnsley to the Premier league. It was the 1st and only time they've ever played at that level.

What has 'paid off' for The Pigs? In what way? Has DW not 'paid off' for us?

By what yardstick do you say promotion is a bare minimum? Other big clubs have found promotion beyond them for several seasons. Please don't suggest Danny had a squad of outstanding players just waiting to stroll back up. We know that's wrong: we saw them last season! We were in total disarray.

As for the Championship, do you really think DW is not only too aware that we will have to strengthen? Will he not have players in mind already?

I have seen nothing to dislike about DW and a barrel-load to admire and respect.

Those with petty and risible prejudices might want to stop embarrassing themselves and enjoy some long-awaited attractive, entertaining football, of which DW is the undoubted architect.

Great stuff yet again tonight, Danny! Thank you. Long may you reign.

That Cherry flavour Bostik must be tasty.

For the first time in years we have a manager playing attractive, incisive and successful football that is delightful to watch. When we went down we needed a change of culture at the club, which we have got. When we went down we needed someone to put some enjoyment back in to watching Sheffield United which we got, we needed someone to give the supporters a bit of confidence which we have got.

I can't possibly see how anyone can call for Wilson's head if we don't go up this season, after the success we have got this season.

I can't see any way that we won't go up, Wednesday are pushing us, but we are responding and getting the results we need to keep them at arms length. There are 4 games left, and they need to win all theirs and hope we get 9 points or less from ours. At the moment it is weighted in our favour, and having seen us look a country mile above the opposition in front of us, i can't really see us cocking it up at this stage, although i have been proved wrong before.

The only person i have seen of the opinion that DW has to go, is Brian the Blade. Which in itself gives credence to the saying that 'empty vessels make the loudest noise'

Pinch, problem solved below.

If we don't go up the squad would be decimated but to talk of moving the manager on is ridiculous.

If we don't manage top 2 then it's looking like either Notts C or Carlisle over 2 legs then either Udders or MK in the you-know-what. I know history would be against us in more ways than one and you don't know what effect missing out on auto would have on the players but dare I say you'd have to fancy us on current form even in the play-offs.

If Ched is found guilty then i think that will have quite a big psychological effect on the rest of our squad.

DW must stay if we dont go up, for one we'll have even less cash to spend on a new managers players, people are so quick to want a manager sacked its ridiculous, look at all the successful managers and they've all been given time
