Another first for the mighty Blades:-

http://www.bdcmagazine.com/the-uks-first-football-stadium-for-women/

"The UK’s first dedicated football stadium for women is in discussions to be built at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park. Scarborough Group International has submitted a planning application for a 3,900-capacity stadium, which would become the new home of Sheffield United Women Football Club ETC"

and another footballing first for Sheffield....

Just a shame we won't claim it as a first.

Annoys me, home of football, nobody knows outside of Sheffield because it isn't championed.

I find it utterly disgraceful how the country's national football museum is actually across the Pennines.

Terrible, but just like Sheffield to miss out
But anyway, if the museum had been built in Sheffield we all know where it would have ended up don't we ?

Visitors could go to the museum in the morning and then it's very close to the park, where they can spend the afternoon

They mentioned Sheffield as the birthplace of football prominently on the BBC the other day. Unfortunately it was on “Flog It” not “Match of the day”

Do they mean the stadium in Attercliffe that already exists, where there are plans to build another stand there and host women's football on top of men's professional rugby league, that's already played there?

Knowing Sheffield City Council Planning Department they would have built the museum next to the magnificent airport .......... hold on a minute
