I am intrigued by the apparent lack of transfer activity in the OUT department.

We've been fed with the idea that the club's wage bill was unsustainable in the Championship, let alone Division One, and yet most of our big earners are still with us and - apart from the hapless Ched - are very much involved with in the team.

Will Monty, Quinn, etc. stay? If so, does this mean that our much maligned Chairman is picking up the tab?

The next few days should be interesting....

PS The heading should be 'The Transfer Window"
(I blame a new keyboard!)

I expect a lot of clubs will leave it until the last day or so. I'd still be surprised if someone doesn't go before 31st.

Chedders will be out on loan as soon as 'other' events allow and presumably, the loaning club will pick up a fair chunk of his salary if not all. A few Chumpionship clubs such as Ipswich who have made a less than impressive start could be forced into a bit of buying before the month is through.

I think we should just wait until the January Transfer Winow.

My thoughts on where the "big names" will be by the end of the August Window:

Ched - Won't go anywhere until his court case is resolved - Stay
Monty - Depends on really how expensive he is. Should be playing at Championship level. He's in the shop window after his goal. Don't think he particularly wants to leave - Go
Quinn - Seems like he's playing fairly well and is certainly committed, he's either putting himself in the window or he wants to do well for us - Stay
Williamson - Is his heart really with the Blades? His fitness is always going to be questionable after so many injuries - Go

What a disappointment! I thought I'd be reading about the Worldwide Islam Network of Women, and the excellent work they do, but its more pointless football crap...
