I admit I was underwhelmed when we signed him. I was even more underwhelmed with his early performances. He seemed to have some ability but little consistency and awareness of others around him. I am now seeing it different and I think he's probably nailed on to start every game now, he is controlling the midfield of late and looks to be developing into a great player. Well done Lunny, you've won over the fans now kick on and get us into those darn play offs.

He is, without question, one bad flaw away from being a seriously accomplished Championship standard middy.

That flaw being the regularity in which he attempts a pass which is just not on.

Keep it simple son, watch Coutts and Fleck in particular who are master decision makers in this context, ignore the fucking jeering crowd with their cries of “gerritforrard” and you won’t go far wrong.

2nd half he was poor, but overall, the lads gone from strength to strength.
to be fair to him though, the whole team went to sh*t in the 2nd half. midfield trio bossed the first half I went into half time thinking this will be whatever score we want it to be.

Put his shirt on the right way, made one or two decent passes.... literally an 11 out of 10 tonight, at least.

The pass (which he didn't see, in the second half) would have put Evans one-on-one with the keeper, but I will forgive him that.

He needs a bit more self belief and needs to surge into the box, he is a big enough lad to cause havoc if he does that.

But a very promising player for us.

He's starting do the things we knew he could do, main thing is skipping past players. He's a technically gifted player and blessed with two wonderful feet. He's a 10 goal a season midfielder for me if he works on his finishing.

Nice to hear the cop sing his name when he put that aggressive challenge in.

I think he's doing quite well now but people seem to fall over themselves to praise a 7/10 performance as a 9/10 or more.

I was just pointing out how a bit part player is now really coming into his own, we don't have a better passer of the ball fit.

He made a couple of bad choices tonight, particularly when he should have played Evans in for his hat trick chance but some of his passing is sublime. Some of his passes and cross field balls tonight were from a different planet.
I remember Brooks ignoring a similar run from Lunny

He’s improving steadily.

I think with players like him, Evans, O’Connell, Stevens and Baldock we will hopefully see even bigger improvements in after consistent game time at this level. If we don’t go up of course.

His long range passing is top quality..just needs to be a bit more savvy in decision making which will come with age. Fine player.
I’d disagree, he frustrates me when he tries those long diagonal balls as they’re wasteful, but his shorter range is generally very good

I really like him, quality player and he’s growing in confidence

I wish he'd stop putting his head in his hands when he loses the ball and instead make more of an effort to win it back. Yes John, you made a mistake, we get that, now stop snowflaking abaht and crack on with it will you...

When he first played for us, I though he looked 'weighty', he's lost some weight, but he's got an odd body shape. I'm warming to him.

There’s always been a good player in there. But he can’t yet put in the required work rate for a full game.

This time next year he could be worth an awful lot of money, or hanging around at the same level. It’s in his hands.

Looked good but seem to tire he makes big runs forward which is good but must be tiring then his performance drops slightly and was rightly taken off.

Been excellent seen he came to the club. There's only three Blades players with more technical ability than him, and none with the passing range. This was apparent to the naked eye after his first couple of games.I agree that he needs to get fitter, and that he is is somewhat hampered by his mobility. It's frightening how good he could be next season.

He’s deffo getting more mobile and perhaps, like Coutts did, he’s starting to learn what he can and can’t do in this team.

He is a joy to watch when he is striding about and pinging the passes around. Has as a real graceful elegance to his play as well, for a big lad.

No one claimed he had a 9/10, and every post before your sarcastic comment had included/acknowledged a critiscm of his performance.

Seemed like a well reasoned discussion to me.

OK, but he gets a positive thread every single time he doesn't have a bad game.

Yeah, it's a fine discussion but he gets a positive thread every single time he doesn't have a bad game.

I think you're exaggerating.

Even if you're not, considering how much criticism (some valid, some not) he recieved at the start of the season, I think it's only fair we acknowledge when he plays well (which I thought he did last night.)

As much as I like Lunny, he seems to struggle when it gets to around 70 minutes. I think he needs a full pre-season.
