Wolves before today had already signed Ryan Bennet (Centre-Back) from Norwich and Roderick Miranda (Centre-Back) from some shitty Portugal team. Now they have officially signed a new Centre-Back/Full-Back called Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, surely Landell is bound to sign for us now.

It seems likely. Whilst a fair few on here have their reservations about his capability to step up to the Championship, I think he's probably one of few better prospects for the price I imagine he'd be available for.

After everyone got their knickers in a twist over Jags it's gonna be tough not to be underwhelmed by any CB signing, I think he'd be a good addition, he looked great before his injury.

I'm not convinced by EEL unfortunately. No doubt he's a great character and he fits in well with the lads here, but I just felt he was exposed too much at times in L1 and I wouldn't be confident about him in our central defence in the Championship. I thought we looked better when he went out of the team and Jake Wright came in.

He certainly has the occasional magnificent lapse about him, his backpass at Fleetwood for example. However, he'll also pop up with goals, his 92nd minute equaliser at Fleetwood for example, cancelling out his earlier cock-up :-)

On balance, I'd be indifferent to his return, although I like him as a character and he has an easily chantable acronym as well.

Feel the same ,he was what we needed at the time though. Whos chant was the same as the Jeremy Corbyn chant ,been bugging me all night.

Although I think he'll have a red card in him every game, and although he did look shaky for a few games... I think for what he'd probably cost he's probably the best we'll get (from another Championship club).

I also think the way everyone turned on him probably didn't help... and actually showed some balls sticking to it and being there when needed (came on and did a job in a few pressure games at the end).

Based on that I'd be happy to give him chance. Provided the guy near me stops shouting 'no' and 'nope' EVERY time he touches the ball.

Centre backs must be on Wilder's menu now above any other position,he needs two at a minimum

I've heard from a 'reliable source' (who ever says 'complete imbecile'?) that CW wants two centre backs and a striker/attacking midfielder.

This may well be my only bit of ITK this year, so please be gentle.

No..................................just no.

You have to be able to play football on the deck in this division.

UTB

Who's to say he won't go on loan to another Champ side? We don't have first dibs on him

I'm not sure Wilder is convinced. He never regained his place in the first 11 and we have JOC as the young centre back. This is the position where decent money will be spent and I think it will be an older, steadier hard man type that it goes on.

Please NO!!

League One defender at best. For a big guy, he seemed to lack the physicality and positional sense required to step up.

Always seemed to be on his heels and lacked the initial burst to get himself out of trouble.

He said that on Radio Sheffield to be fair too! So I think we can assume he wants at least one centre backs. I like EEL but his marking isn't always the best which he needs to improve on, especially in the league above. His form seemed to drop a little when he signed the new contract with Wolves, which still seemed a very strange situation to me and I'm sure one that he regrets now.

I'm guessing that he ruled himself out when he signed a new contract with Wolves. CW wants players who want to play for us. Signing a contract that makes it harder for us to buy him sent the wrong message.

Not so.

Lambert rated him, Wilder rates him.
Lambert has gone, and Wolves are signing centre halves.

The contract helps Wolves get a better fee, but won't deter our interest.

Wilder certainly had a funny way of showing how much he rated him when he left him out of the side and seemed reluctant to bring him back in, only for injuries leading to him getting any sort of sniff whatsoever towards the end of the season.

If Wolves want any more than £500k I'd fuck the deal off completely, another loan I could perhaps put up with for cover but I think there's better options out there being discussed on other threads, Treets.

He's 24, will improve and played a fair proportion of last season with an injury. If CW feels he's worth buying, it's ok by me.
It's probably ok by everyone but it won't stop people putting their concerns or doubts on here mate.

As much as we all love Wilder, he isn't everybody's Dad and will get one or two things wrong, he's only human.

Not a dig at you 'btw', it's more a general point I've picked up on reading quite a few threads thinking Wilder will do no wrong. Even he will admit to the errors he makes but at the same time tries to correct them, that's what sets him apart from a lot of stubborn managers who keep getting jobs somehow.

Ok then, get EEL signed up Dad. :)

60/40 against for me I think. Got some good attributes but looks like he put his boots on the wrong feet some days.
