This summer, regardless of whether we go up via the play offs, we need replacements for:

Ahmedodhic
Souza
Hamer
Robinson
Brewster
T Davies
Shackleton
All of the loans
Wilder

Assuming we are still in the Championship the money we get for the first three should be enough to fund it. I hope we’re already in the early stages of planning for it.

Still got at lleast four games to go and if that's it then you can get as hysterical as you want

Peterborough aren't going up this year. First signing Kwame Poku. Next signing Terry's Dolan from Blackburn on a free. That's already an upgrade on what we have.

Is a young team that has got 88 points (with two games to go) really in need of a big rebuild?
Which of the players I’ve listed are you desperate to keep? The size of the rebuild needed was never going to be completed in 2 windows.

How many of those players will be left in the summer if we don't go up?

That's a genuine question btw.

We've got 6 loanees who'll go back and not sure I'd be making a massive attempt to sign any of them. Honestly don't think Hamer and Souza will fancy another Championship season.

Also if we don't win the play offs then Cooper to Leeds is probably the most nailed on transfer of the summer window.

Early stages of planning for all Blades seasons begin around 15th of July.
No kit, no nothing, no signings til about a week before kick off. I agree with you though.

I thought this was a rebuild year? Next year too....if we do get promoted, hehehehe, Wilder has to go cause all he'll want are British players. We need a squad with international quality not just Championship players.

I honestly don’t think we’d miss the top 3 as long as the fees are reinvested. Anel has been bang average this season, granted looks good alongside a better centre half but wouldn’t care if he went. Souza been out a lot anyway and Arblaster replaces him + money for a couple more & Hamer while can be a match winner hasn’t done enough for me. If we’re championship Brewster can have a year for me but rest get rid, along with a quick sale for Cannon.

Let’s hope it includes a manager with an idea of the tactics he wants to play and the appropriate personnel to match, rather than just individual players who get inexplicably picked regardless of form or formation, and who often end up played out of position to boot.

Nailed on like how we were going to lose to Wednesday in the play offs or nailed on as in we were going to get relegated this season ?

If we don't go up, after todays tactical disaster its looking more likely, then the rebuild for me has to start off the pitch. I don't want to see 4-4-2 hoof ball again but more important I want to see a visible plan from the owners that they intend to upgrade the Club and get it fit for purpose to compete in the EPL.

That requires a Sporting Director being employed to deal with recruitment and contracts. A complete over haul of conditioning and medical recovery facilities. This season once again players can't last 90 minutes and some seem to be carrying injuries that prevent them getting back up to speed quickly. If that requires an expert consultant to Head up Medical Services and Conditioning then so be it.

Finally and most important employ a Head Coach who concentrates solely on first team systems of play and tactics. This is the way all top clubs operate. Keeping the present structure imo sets us up for continual failure.

Kone
Poku
Dolan
Dunne
Darling
Holding
Hughes

Just for starts with at least 3 of those been squad players, so we can have similar quality depth as both Leeds and burnley this season.

Then x2 new cms and x2 wingers.

This is my opinion for chamiosnhip 25/26.

I'm all for a Sporting Director but for this to work you need a young flexible manager who is willing to change their formation and tactics to suit whatever players the Sporting Director brings in.

Ideally you tell them you plan to play 4231 with players in x,y and z positions to play in certain ways, and they try to find those players. On the flip side if two pacey wingers become available and we can afford them then the coach will be expected to change their system to accommodate them. This is why the Directors didn't initially work in the Premier League as many managers adopted the "my way or the highway" approach. "I'm in charge of everything and that's that!"

These days there's no room for managers anymore. The modern game has changed and it's all about Sporting Directors and coaches. It's very much like American sports with their general managers and head coaches.

I'd go with that. Not too unrealistic with that list.

Poku is out of contract this summer, as is Dolan and I think Dunne too.

You really are an absolute weapon aren't you!

What was hysterical about my post? Stating I wouldn't sign any of the loanees? That Hamer and Souza probably won't fancy another season or the fact that Leeds will need a keeper?
The last paragraph about cooper being nailed on to sign for Leeds
It's just pathetic
