It's obviously melted down on here after today's result. Much of the reaction is just a continuation of the JTW debacle.

Losing to Wigan is not an issue. They're the best team in the league and have the biggest budget and will go up.

This was by no means a bad performance but it was the a performance which shows that we don't have anywhere enough going forward and we're incredibly dodgy in defence.

The amount of times the ball was put into the box and there was no one there, or only Billy, was ridiculous.

We're more likely to go down than go up.

It's not Adkin's fault it's the Board and the players. Both have been underperforming all season

Thing is robbo, we've seen how it's done and still persist in not doing it.
Wigan, Bristol City, Wolves are prime examples.
Keep the proper talent you have and buy/loan the best proven div 3 match winners ahead of your rivals.

we have been in this league for 5 years and with the exception of Wolves, we have had the biggest wage budget, yet we have been miles away.

Surely the root of our problem is talent spotting

I would have had no issue with us selling Brayford or Adams for a fair amount as long as the money was re-invested to get us up. What's the point in having a championship right back or a great prospect for the future but yet is always on the bench? Sell them and buy the players to take us forward if there's no money (there is no money)

I note Dan Burn played again for Fulham. I'd love get a statement from the club to explain why Fulham would sell him for sod all or why he would drop down a league on a lower wage.

There is no planning going on for the future. We're not buying players to take us forward for the future.

Why try the proven way?? That would mean the board accepting that they've made mistakes in their recruitment methods since relegation.

Kevin McCabe accepting he's got it wrong? Not a chance.

Hahahahaha since when have we ever 'reinvested' wisely?

The buck has to stop with Adkins, but the club still needs to back him. Only 8 months in the role now and he has been able to sign a few players, and let’s be honest they have been very poor, so our current plight is at the very least partially his fault.

You cannot wholly absolve him of responsibility the buck has to stop with him. His aim is to pick up the team for the rest of the season starting, by picking the right XI, sometimes your best starting XI does not necessarily contain your 11most talented players - it is a blend of characters, qualities, and skills. I must say Adkins talks a good game in his interviews, but this is not transferred onto the field.

The majority of the squad is not made up of his own players at the moment he is simply doing what he can with what he has. I know as fans we want promotion, or even having the team playing with some attacking flare, but we also want to see players play with passion, commitment, and with a work rate that never stops, we are getting none of that and Adkins must take the blame for not motivating the players and not getting them to play as a unit.

I hope Adkins can create something with what he has, but so far it’s not looking positive, which is such a shame for all us Blades fans.

If our first XI contains our most talented players then we're totally fucked.

Or when Billy raced down the wing, towards the cop and crossed a ball straight along the goal line, for a simple back post tap in, but no one there.

This is the key for me. At some stage the Board has to give someone the chance to build a team. Wilson should have been give until the end of the season and Clough should have started this season despite the fall.out with McCabe.

There are many players due to leave in the close season. I would prefer to give Adkins another season despite his mistakes this season as at some stage we have to give a manager a chance to build a team and squad.
However with Adkins hints re the Board in the RS interview after the game I suspect he believes he hasn't long left at the club.

Agreed Robbie,
Although I guess the argument against is that if we did that and went up, we'd then be searching for players like Brayford and Adams!
It's a stick or twist thing really I suppose, though at the moment I'd definitely twist, get up there and then worry about shaping the team to stay up.
