The Ramos Roll

Football is a world full of Tom Daleys, it's embarrassing to be a supporter of the sport at times.

The big problem is that players consistently get away with diving and feigning injury. It's not hard to think of cases where the majority of fans would encourage their players to break the rules in the right circumstances (blocking a quick free kick, taking out a player about to score, shirt pulling to stop a player getting away etc.), but typically those things don't trick the referee anywhere near as often.

what a jolly nice bunch some of you are!
these players have worked and trained all their lives with the dream to play in a champions league final....
if/when we are in that final, and a blades player who is paid millions to bring home trophies, takes an opportunity to affect the game by reducing the opposing teams strength, I believe it would be forgotten as said player lifted the biggest prize in club football.
its easy to be morally righteous sat at home as a neutral, but if you were watching the blades with a few peroni's inside, in the biggest game of our lives - would you not join in a rendition of "cheerio cheerio cheerio"?

Cheating is cheating and that was blatant cheating, why can't we have a best team win ethic without that BS from Ramos? Athletes, Tennis players, Cyclists, Boxers etc. all get banned for using performance enhancing drugs (and rightly so), what Ramos did affected the game (maybe not the result) so what's the difference? None, cheats are cheats - replay the game.

I actually think in general , the English players are the most honest ..very few behave like Ramos did , and many of the foreigners that arrive to play in England learn very quickly , that sort of malarkey is not on

I wouldn't bother with the "English" rose tinted glasses if I was you, A wanker is a Wanker regardless of where they happen to come from.

No. I'd be ashamed and embarrassed. It's probably a generational thing. Still, I hope you get a chance to put it to the test.

It's a good high profile example of one of the most annoying things in our sport and it needs to be cut out.

There have been many examples of blatant cheating in football and diving like this must wind up 95% of fans like nothing else. It isn't something exclusive to the Spanish leagues as we have all witnessed and hopefully the changes made to retrospective punishments for simulation next season will start to turn the tide against this sort of shite.

be hard pushed to find a fascist in Madrid today

Suppose you hate most german clubs as well then
Franco blatantly supported RM. When he handed over their equivalent of the FA Cup (now the Copa Del Rey - originally Copa del Presidente) he told one lucky club captain - "They named this after me"! Di Stefano originally Argentinian first came to the notice of Barcelona. Franco ordered them to sell him to Real Madrid. One player played for both teams. His gerrymandering of football in favour of Real was legendary. Hence the Barcelona slogan "Res Qu Un Club".

is it any worse than Arsenal fixing to get back in the top league after world war one after finishing outside the promotion places or Mussolini picking the same friendly ref for the quarter final semi and final , for Italy to win the 1934 world cup
Should we all hate Italians now
In Spain now Franco is seen for the despot he was,
Modern Real Madrid is your typical corporate monster , nothing more

Barcelona have pulled plenty of their own stunts as any Madridista will tell you

be honest, if that was a blades player what would your reaction be?

The game of football is ace. Sadly, many who are paid to play it are thoroughly dislikeable.
Ramos gets up to all sorts of shit like tonight every season, he's a despicable fucker and I don't know how any Real Madrid fan can truly support him as one of their own.
I stopped giving a fuck about England when we had Sven's celebrity team that picked itself and had the gall to call themselves the "golden generation". For that I loathed them and was glad none of that team were United players. How can you cheer for and support someone you can't fucking stand?

When Peter Withe returned from a loan spell away, having played against us, scored twice and rather enthusiastically celebrated his goals, my old man got up and left bramall lane as soon as Withe appeared from the tunnel, such was his disgust that he wouldn't watch the man, let alone cheer for him.

Didn't see the match so no comment on the incident and its merits.

However, as whatever happened has now been enshrined for ever in a thread linking him to the Sheffield United version of Peter Withe, surely that is fitting and severe punishment enough.
His embarrassment should be total.

I'm quite old, can someone please explain what's so "unreal" about that 🤷🏼‍♂️

It's a bit of celebrity tittle tattle. Shakira and Pique had a decade long relationship with two kids, but broke up last year. She released a track spilling the beans on some of his behaviour during the relationship, which won an award yesterday, and notorious shithouser Ramos, was likely all too pleased to be asked to present an award to his el-Classico rivals ex-missus.
