The problems for me is that we are;

a) Playing players out of their natural position (Alcock)
b) Trying to accommodate players because of one attribute (Davies)
c) Carrying 3 of our most creative players, 2 of which aren't fit (Scougs, Murphy & Flynn)

Add to that we have also lost our spine, (Collins/HM - Doyle - Baxter)

The solution for me would be;

a) Bring Collins in alongside MaGahey and move Alcock to RB
b) Drop Davies. He hasn't done much wrong but his contribution is limited
c) Drop Scougs and let him shake off the knock, drop Flynn, he isn't fit and give Murphy 2 more games to get it right or his place is under threat.
d) As much as it pains me bring Doyle back until Wallace is fit
e) Start Baxter

If Scougs and Flynn need match fitness play them in the U21's

My team v Posh, 4-4-1-1 with Baxter in the hole;

Howard

Alcock
Collins
MaGahey
Harris/McEviley

JCR
Doyle
Basham
Murphy

Baxter

Higdon

Bench - Turner, Davies, McNulty, Reed, Diego, Butler, Porter

sorry, i forgot the comma, here have some extra ones to make up for it ,,,,,,

The reason we haven't got points so far is that we haven't fired as an attacking force. Changing round the defence isn't going to help and neither is bringing in Doyle although I can see him moving Alcock.

Basham will be better playing the 'Doyle' role so why not try;

Howard
Alcock, McGahey, Collins, Harris
JCR/Flynn, Basham, Davies
Baxter
Higdon, Murphy

Having said that, he may well go more defensive, trying to get a point at worst leaving out Flynn/JCR from above and bringing Doyle in..

The reason we've lost two games is because we are playing a midfielder at right back a right back at c/h and a right footed c/h on the left...

With two left sided C/H sitting on the naughty step...

You can't talk about players been unfit and not mention Higdon.

He's the second coming of Geoff Horsfield.

Biggest waste of money in the history of the club. Bought for £1.2m and then he never even played one second of league football for us.

Absolutely astounding bit of business that, even for us.

John Ebrell wasn't a bad deal either:rolleyes:He did play 45 minutes for his £1.2 million move though:rolleyes:

So glad Cloughy read this thread before last nights game, although I do concede keeping Davies in the side instead of JCR was the right decision.....:rolleyes:.....apart from that, and a toss-up between Higdon and McNulty starting up top I was pleased he heeded my advice.

Simple choice on Satdi Nige, don't change a winning side.....any further pointers needed, in-box me fella..:D
