I don't expect the floodgates to open just yet but we will be swimming in different waters so logic dictates that the pursestrings will need to losen if we are to seriously challenge for anything. Wilder isn't the type to be happy just treading water and after 5 years of dissapointment noone involved with this club will want to go back.

As for the Prince, his personal wealth may be one thing but the money he potentially has access to is another thing entirely. The Saudi Royal family is huge with wealth into the tens of billions and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a number of other investors lined up from within the family. It's likely they would be only be interested in a team within a shout of the PL though so it may be a while before we see them, if they exist.

Unless CW/AK can unearth good players for next to nowt we could struggle. I'm with you ST but still think your £4-6 is way low if we are serious. PL wages, players and parachute payments have penitrated deep,into the Championship in the last 6 years meaning even average to good players will be costing £2-3m

I reckon 5 Million will be allocated for the First team squad. Billy Wilder will then spend 1 million on 8 players in the summer and 2 million on a further 4 in January.
