"It started badly with Ched Evans going off with a broken collarbone, and then Jamie Ward went off with a hamstring and also Lee Williamson with a hamstring.
"It's never easy at the best of times. That is seven or eight players out with injuries in a squad of 21, 22, so you can see why we have got a problem.
"It has been like that twice this season. I said for the run-in that we could not afford injuries or suspension but we have got them by the bucketload now."

Is he taking the piss!? Excuses for losing 7 straight away games, excuses for a lacklusture attacking display against the team with the worse defence in the division? How many games away now where we havent scored, let alone tested the bloody keeper.

Haven't won away in seven with the latest to a team which beat us for only it's sixth win of the season.

From the bits I've just listened to, the summary is probably about right. Other points raised:

- Kallio out for 2-3 weeks with a thigh injury
- Ward and Willo suspected hamstring injuries
- Some person called Jed Evans has apparently broken his collarbone - does he work at the club?
- "I can't keep on criticising the players Seth"
- "I had to put Matty Lowton on the bench tonight, because he's all we've got left" - don't go expecting any game time then Matt...
- Will try and get 1 or 2 in on loan for Saturday
- Based on this time last year, highly unlikely to get anyone in on loan at all
- One of the players out injured is called Francis apparently

Roll on Saturday....

Once again, to be fair, what he's said is exactly right.

However, whilst I was reasonably happy to accept this as an excuse earlier in the season, just look at the team who played 2nd half. All bar Bartley have Premiership experience and the fact they hardly mustered a meaningful shot on target says it all. Yep, out of confidence, yep, lack of consistency in team mates but there were some very experienced players out there and you have to question why these players are consistenty under-performing and playing like they've never played together before.

I've always been an advocate of apportioning a large part of the blame to the players but there comes a point when you have to question their direction and motivation and it seems quite clear to me that we've reached and gone past it.

We still have a decent squad for this division and a change needs to be made before the squad is further decimated and the likes of Ward disappear in the Summer.

JED Evans not CHED apparently.

Why can't we just rely on our academy at times when the squad is low?
If there are only 21-22 players in the squad surely this is the time to test some of the fringe players.
We've heard of players playing that were unfit, out of position etc? Why have we not dipped into the academy's pool of young guns.

What's wrong with anything he's said?

Nothing, fairly accurate, but to appear suprised that Williamson is injured with his record since Blackwell signed him to a bit of a laugh, and I think this is Jamie Wards 4th Hamstring injury since his arrival, again Blacky should not be suprised when another one occurrs.

Both are decent players for the level we are at, but talent really dont count for much if their bodies arn`t up to it, again.

Good lord, does he not realise how that kind of statement makes players feel?!?

When clubs are in this situation things are difficult, and to bring players in at short notice is a problem.

There should be a "pick one from the crowd option" - I could have done a job last night, especially the one Henri Camara did ;)

I think I covered more of the pitch than James Harper too, although I pointed a hell of a lot less.

I'm considering pulling my socks up light tights tonight at football, as I'm a little bit embarrassed to be linked with the socks down style of James :)

how come bloody quinn never gets injured.. oh yeah.. he never does anything to 'get' injured

To be fair to him, he was one of the few having a go last night and had an instrumental role in our best move of the match (not hard!) - a quick one-two with Camara and putting in a shot.

I'm surprised he doesn't get injured more, as he usually gets targeted, but also manages to look like he's been hit by a lorry every time he goes down :)

I listened to the commentary on the local BBC station. Before the game they were bemoaning all the injuries, suspensions, etc. that Peterborough had suffered. Last Saturday the team had been terrible. Jim Gannon brought back some fringe players who had not done well in the past. They expected the worst against a Sheffield United side who are "always strong and physical and work really hard". The Blades also "have a lot of quality players including the £3 million Ched Evans".

It took a while for the penny to drop and to realise just how bad the Blades are.

That shot can't have hit the target though according to the interview none in 90 mins again

It was blocked by a group of defenders chucking themselves at it. Looked on target.
