Slightly off topic of the OP - what was the song that was being sung on the Kop on Saturday to the tune of "Oh what a night" ?

I was sat in the South Stand and didn't quite catch all the words (due to all the moaning going on around me !!)

Cheers
I believe it's the song about a certain away game in September:

"Oh what a night
Late September on a Sunday night
Duffy scored and they were f*cking sh*te
What a feeling, what a night."

Many a Wendy mate of mine has reminded me that this song is factually incorrect and the kick off was at noon.

None of them took exception to the insinuation that they were indeed "f*cking sh*te".

People don’t even know the words or sing the song without a mumble halfway through.

He wasn’t a free from Derby.

He was undisclosed but try fitting that fucker in.:)

Pauuulll, his second name is Couttsy.
Pauuulll, undisclosed from Derby.
Pauuulll, he never gives the ball away.
1-2-3-4........:)

I always sing "We picked him up from Derby"

We sing a lot of songs way too quickly for my liking, it’s not a sprint it’s a marathon so to speak.

Most songs sung with a bit of patience leading up to a quicker version towards the end after minutes worth of singing slowly sound great imho and really do create a great atmosphere, we don’t do this anywhere near enough for me.

Me and a few others were trying to get the Blades go marching in song going, slowly, at Burton but nobody was having none of it, they couldn’t wait to sing it quickly, it spoiled it.

Our fans are great in general but it’s just a few observations I thought I’d share.

If Lundstrom is put off by fans singing Couttsie song then perhaps he shouldn’t be a professional footballer . My guess is he never even notices. He’s playing the game he’s trained for professionally and hopefully gets a good wage for doing.

Love it Tray, thanks fella.

I don’t like the song as it’s just the latest in a string of tunes which every team up and down the country adopts for one of their players. There’s nothing special and unique about it.
I agree, and I do wish we were able to come up with some of our own songs ('some of our own, some of our owwwwwnnn...'), but.... let's be honest, we're talking about a group of people- football fans- who are almost by definition a bunch of tribal followers, and asking them to do something original rather than copy and follow the herd.. it's hardly a surprise that they don't is it.

Also, you only have to look at some of the cynical derision spouted on here by some against anyone who makes any attempt to come up with something new, to know that it's going to be a struggle. Granted, some of them are rubbish, but really, not all of them are and a few here and there are actually witty. We've just got to get them going at matches.

I've never liked this song from the very start. The lyrics sound totally contrived and faintly ridiculous and, when it's sung at 100 mph in the way our fans do it just sounds weak and, frankly, pathetic.

tbf when we first started singing the coutts song (away at bolton) i hadnt heard another team use the tune ... although i think chelsea were using it around the same time as were probebly a couple of others.
also the way we sung it at bolton was better, singing "onnnnn N onnnnn" instead of "oooh-Eee-oooh" it sounded much better to me. but after that we never sung it the same for some reason.

To the tune of “Santos!”...

John Fleck!
John Fleck!
John Fleck!
John Fleck!
John Fleck!

Nope, that's "Jake Wright" to the satos tune.

There was the facebook clip of the bearded lad on London Road with the Fleck song, but it never caught on. It's on here somewhere.
