It seems the £ is there and CW is happy with it.

But if you were a player or his agent and the presence or absence of CW was a factor in your choice of Club this summer , you'd think twice about joining the Blades.

The case isn't going to get decided until well after 8 August , unless the judge can move like Billy Whizz.

What's needed is for the warring parties to come together for 5 minutes and issue a statement along these lines :

"......Yes , we are at war over the ownership - but the Club is the Club and neither of us wants to see it suffer from our dispute.

The outome of the case is ages away and so to reassure the many thousands of loyal supporters , we are both equally content to say this -

There is nothing we can presently see which would lead to a change in the management team upon the case being ultimately decided one way or the other.

Chris Wilder & Alan Knill & team have achieved enormous progress in the last 3 years and we both see them continuing to do so....."

I think that would help encourage our transfer targets.

I'd be amazed if any of the type of player we were looking at would turn down the chance of playing Premiership football under Wilder purely because there might be a change of owner in 6 months time which, possibly, could affect the management.

I understand your comment , but what if that player were trying to decide between Burnley , Brighton and ourselves ?
Or are we so far behind those two "established" Prem sides on wages , that the dilemma wouldn't arise for him ?

Do players really care who's running things though? They're so insulated with agents, etc and they’ll still get paid no matter what. Its not like they’ll be interacting with McCabe or HRH every day.

Really? If I was a player I'd be looking elsewhere hoping someone like Villa are interested in me. We're in a right mess and will more than likely go back down, if CW/AK can sell that to our targets using the "return to the PL stronger" ploy then fair play.

If that player had any sense he’d realise that ‘established’ is an illusion. They are tiny clubs.

" Some time ago our manager outlined his plans for the new season and we have provided immediate funding for him to place the club exactly where he wants it to be in time for the pre-season friendlies. Our manager adds his name to this statement and fans can be content in the knowledge that the High Court proceedings, indeed any potential change of ownership, will not impede our preparations and determination to establish the club at the higher level".

In my (biaised) opinion, Burnley (aside from a brief purple patch which saved them) and Brighton are both on the way down so only wages would be a factor and if that were the case, good luck to them, move on.

The last date we had was September and whilst if it goes HRH's way that potentially could have immediate effect on the manager (don't go there), a take-over would then take months to sort even if they have people lined up.

I keep reading on here about how agents like their players to move around because each transfer earns them money. So why wouldn’t an agent advise his player to come to the Lane? If we stay up, he’ll probably get a better contract, if we go down, he’ll get a move. Assuming he’s decent.

Burnley and Brighton play shit football. That makes their defenders look good, not so much the attacking players. So if I was an attacking player or his agent, I’d favour the Blades because I might actually get the ball passed to me in dangerous areas so I can show what I can do, rather than have to deal with balls larupped at me.

Unless there was a question mark over whether they will continue to get paid for the length of the contract they are offered (i.e. Bolton) then players won't give a shit who is running the show.

Certainly there will be players who will sit up and notice an opportunity to work with Wilder given his growing reputation but football is a very uncertain business and footballers know that comes with the territory.

I’ll be shocked if Brighton stay up and doubly shocked if Harry Potter makes it to the end of the season.

Not as sure about Burnley, could see them just staying out of trouble, if they keep Dyche and don’t get too many injuries. And that’s two things we can’t predict. Same as Newcastle, at this stage we have no idea if Benitez will be manager. Or if he goes, who’d replace him (could be Dyche).

The other thing we don’t know is whether a club will be bought out during the summer and, if so, will it go wrong like the buy outs of Swansea, West Brom etc.

And that’s without all the other unknowns like what our first team will be and which clubs lose important players, as you say, Bournemouth could lose a couple and sink like a stone.

Players and agents won't give a monkeys, they'll just be after the best deal, regardless of where it comes from.
The one person at the club who might become disillusioned by it is the manager, if his hands are tied and he can't move us to the next level he might decide he's gone as far as he can with us and look for a better option.

I think the judge will announce one of 3 things next week :
1) a date for a full judgment & reasons. No chance of this before 8 August;
2) a date for judgment to be given (with reasons reserved to a later date) - possible before 8 August , but since the reasons remain unstated , any appeal would have to await their publication - and therefore no definitive orders will be made upon which any immediate steps could be taken ;
3) simply "judgement reserved" , with no future date promised for anything. In none of those 3 scenarios can I see any actual changes ensuing before September at the very least , unless the judge moves at an incredible , almost injudicious speed.
