An improvement on his disastrous performance when we played Swindon in the playoffs, but what a poor referee! Allowed Peterborough to get away with time wasting and how can he not give a penalty for the two handed shove on Billy Sharp!

They basically had a free pass to grapple, push, pull and attempt to remove shirts all match... other than the one he correctly gave when we were defending a corner in front of the Kop.

Conned many times by Posh players screaming and heading towards the floor before being touched.

If refs started giving what they should we would do better than most. as it is we are a bit lightweight at times although getting better at competing.

So here we are, back to being bullied out of a game and the opposition taking advantage of a below par referee. Wasn't it only a week ago we took pride in no longer being the pushovers? What changed? Piss poor from an overrated and quite frankly in my opinion a very unlikeable manager.

You expect a bit of time wasting from the opposition when they are leading but, their keeper was really taking the piss out of the ref and never looked like getting a yellow card.

On what basis. He is the best manager we could have at this moment in time and the best we've had while being down here.
On what basis you ask? The fact that Adkins has apparently been there and done it but failed to outline our shortcomings after almost a full summer shows how bad he is doing at the moment. On what basis is your suggestion that he's the best manager we've had during our depressing stay in League 1? Statistically and based on the league table, so far he is the second worst behind Weir.

Our shortcomings were identified by Adkins two months ago and were addressed by Adkins two months ago and until today, we had won every game since. He realised that things needed to change and he changed them and it's working. Something which Wilson wouldn't have done, weir wouldn't have done and Clough certainly wouldn't have done.

The first half non penalty was worse ,sammon had both legs taken from under him ,right in front of us ,definite stonewall penalty. I would like to see their 3rd again ,looked well offside in the build up.

There were also multiple other shouts if we weren't playing do what you want in the area . The number of grapples/pulls to the floor/instances of pulling the shirt off someone's back from our corners were ridiculous.

The see how 'many men you stand in a foot square' routine from a corner is an old Westley favourite.

So the brief 5 wins in a row is all that Adkins' reign should be based on? Our shortcomings have been blatantly obvious for the past 18 months so surely he had an idea straight away? Utterly abject from him. Fair enough he went back to basics from Coventry onwards. Ok, so why did today change?

It's one loss mate, we didn't deserve to lose but did, we go again and see how we react. Fucking hell, i sound like btl :D

I'm not angry about this one loss though. Time and time again we see teams easily open up our capitulating defence and the manager hasn't done anything about it. You think that's bad I must sound like Barney...

Yes we do mate, lets see how we react though after a good run followed by a loss, then we'll know more and can see how far we are getting under Adkins.

I thought the ref was poor, the time wasting virtually from the moment they scored the first was laughable and he did nothing. Players going down as though they had been shot, rolling around and then jogging on. The most bizarre was one of their players diving to the ground (2nd half, towards the westfeild) and appealing for a foul, Bond actually waved his arms signalling no foul. So where isvthe yellow card for simulation?

They were a typical Westley team, dirty cynical cheats.

Did not think he was that bad a ref actually. On thing that did surprise me was he took no action when 2 of their subs came on the pitch to celebrate the third goal. I thought that entering the field of play without the referees permission was an automatic booking but he just totally ignored it.

He's the best manager we've had on paper so far. But he's busy making an arse of his reputation, thats for sure.

For Sammon's non-penalty, as soon as the ref. waved it away the guy next to me said 'So why doesn't he give Sammon a yellow?' This is where the game has changed. In these situations, it's not an 'either/or', it is possible for two players to clash without one of them getting a card!

There was a good case on MoTD last night (Man. U v Swansea). Swansea's Rangel was chopped down in the area and it looked a nailed on pen. But this is Man. Utd and the ref. not only waved the penalty appeal aside, he booked Rangel (who hadn't made any outrageous appeal). No way did the Swansea player 'dive'. The booking seemed to be for having the temerity to expect a penalty at OT.

The incident you mention was their No. 10 and I thought at the time 'He's finished' but of course he wasn't (the bastard!). Doesn't mean he wasn't fouled, though.
