What is the most bizarre game you have attended over the years at BDTBL?
For me it's got to be the battle of Bramall Lane v WBA when the game was abandoned due to lack of players.....that was bizarre.

Was a pleasure seeing Santos get his revenge on that dirty bastard though.

2nd weirdest was also against WBA in 2000. We played absolute dogshit and somehow thrashed them 6-0.

County cup at the lane v Barnsley. Barnsley borrowed a keeper from the pigs as theirs were injured. 9.0 to the Blades. 2,000 crowd but we were squashed in the middle of the kop as if 40,000 were in the ground....weird night.

On the day we played this game , I was walking the dog in the Phoenix park in Dublin , and was wearing a Blades hat , bumped into a family , mam and dad and 2 kids , dad turned to me and asked you a Blade , they where living in Castleknock a suburb on the norhtside of Dublin , got chatting strange place to meet a Blade .
That's what a remember about that game

There were admittedly a few during the Adkins season that were bizarre. I recall walking into the stadium, seemingly blacking out through sheer boredom and then being back out on Bramall Lane on my way home.

Saw it on telly in the background (my daughter was getting married that August day, inconsiderate, eh?)

That was one of six or so nails whacked into the lid of our coffin that season, wasn't it? If you believe in chaos theory, and track the slight waft of the butterfly wing it was Rob Styles's brainfart about Morgan and his blatant shipping of Gerrard's whanger up his rear with his cheating. One of the oddest things is that Morgan, on a yellow, wasn't sent off. So much for an offence.

Think about it

Up to that moment, 1-0 up and 70 minutes in, everything seemed pretty good. That was the tip of the mountain we'd climbed. From the moment Gerrard landed on his arse and screamed 'Penalty!' I don't think we have ever really recovered, have we? The butterfly wing turned into a ten year shit storm. Everything post-that moment has been steady decline until the win against Gillingham away last season.

I think we had 19 at Fratton Park once and still lost. 10 of those failed to beat the near post man. Pompey were fucking laughing at us.

In addition to those already discussed, let me throw in Blades 0 Scunthorpe 4 in 2010. We dominated the game, hit the post/bar several times, were the better side by miles, but lost by 4 !
