Radio Sheffield understand there isn’t a change to formation so reckon it is:
Henderson
Cranie - Egan - Stevens
Baldock - Norwood - Dowell - Fleck
Duffy
Sharp - McGoldrick

But admit they are guessing.

O Connell not missed a match for over 100 league games.

Think it’s that but with Dowell & Fleck flipped. Wilder will probably prefer to keep at least one of the two in their usual position for us – doubt he’d make both start in positions they haven’t done in our system.

Fleck would have a mare at LWB, they would stick a tall 'un on him at the back post. Dowell LWB for me, but then again will he last the pace in a demanding role ? shit just got real

I would’ve thought the same but just repeating what was said on the radio.
My immediate thought is that Forest fans said Dowell was so poor second half of the season because he pushed out wide instead of being played centrally...

Has Dowell ever played left wing back. Has Fleck? Has Stevens played centre back much?

If we’re putting square pegs in round holes, we might as well have just gone with Stearman or Egan on the left

Must be a wholly new system. Without our advanced CBs available there’s no choice.

Would imagine with that line up we are going 4-3-3. Should be interesting . Lest hope it works.

If this is 442 then when was the last game we started with this formation pop pickers?

I’d have thought with JOC & Bash out we’d have needed Madine for defending (and attacking) set pieces.

Of course the game hasn’t even started yet. But we still really don’t have adequate cover in certain positions - Jack O’Connell, Enda Stevens & Oli Norwood being the 3 players we just can’t adequately cover for.

They kept the JOC injury quiet, Would probably have knocked about 2 or 3k off the attendance If it was known we had two thirds of our defence missing

Well, ones things for sure Pullis and his backroom staff have got their work cut out as regards tactics he won't have a clue how were going to play

It could be a back four (but then you'd expect Stearman ahead of Cranie) and a midfield diamond. It'd be a risk obviously, but so would Dowell at LWB and Stevens at CB. Either way, I'm not hugely confident.

Intriguing line up for such a tough match. I hope that JOC is just out as a precaution to be brought back for the easier fixture on Saturday.

Lots of attacking talent on display tonight.

When we make changes whether unforced or not we generally suffer, come on lads let’s have this one! Come on Blaaaaaades!

2 big games that we need to win for differing reasons 1 v direct rival & the other v team expected to be relegated so need to take the 3pts. fri gives confidence that we can take 6pts as before the pressure collapse that ive seen too many times , we were outstanding.

im interested to see how we go with that diamond. but we usually play quite well in most formations. bar last 10 mins :D

Just seen the team and I'll take a point now please.

No Bash or JoC. I can see us shipping a few. I'm not sure what he's going to do with the formation though so could be a master plan.

Likely 4.3.3?

Fleck behind Dowell and Norwood with McG and Duffy either side of Sharp?

We are very small compared to Boro.

Think we’ll start really well and try to blow them away 1st half.
Feel confident we’ll be leading 1-0 or 2-0.

The key is at what stage will the players see the finish line and start to think we’ll try and hold our for the win. If it’s 5 minutes from the end then fine but if we starting sitting back 20 minutes from time then could get nervy.

My prediction is we’ll lead 2-0 and again look impressive.
Then we’ll sit back defending in numbers with Boro piling on the pressure and pulling a late goal back.

However this time we’ll hold out and earn a nervous ending 2-1 win.
Scorers: Sharp and Madine
Attendance 24,487.

We can try to hold out 5 minutes from the end if we're winning :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
In what world do you watch Sheffield United in

We want 95 minutes of complete overdrive, and when the ref blows for full time we should carry on for another minute or so just to make sure
