So after the good solid win at Swindon on Tuesday, it's back to BDBL for the visit of Charlton. That's a Charlton side very much in a relegation battle after going 9 games without a win. In fact their last win was on the road at Bolton..... :)

It seems they have a decent record this season against the top 5 or 6 sides, but a visit to Bramall Lane 'might' be a different matter....

Anyway..

Any team news? :)

Lavery has seemingly overcome his knock?

Duffy straight back into the team?

Or maintain the same line up?

Clark probably on the bench?

So as we look to extend our own unbeaten run to 9, this looks like a wonderful opportunity to maintain the gap over our rivals. Scunthorpe apart, it looks possible that the top sides will take maximum points this afternoon. However we all know that it's not that simple in football, and even with games running out, there may be a twist or two yet....

3-0 Blades win. Onwards and upwards.

We're flying, playing at the top of our game and they have nothing to play for. Can't see anything other than a Blades win today.

So I'm going for 2-0 Charlton.

Start Wright and I strongly fancy us to keep a clean sheet. Because we're at home, we're due one, and Charlton aren't very high scoring.

Don't start Wright and we run the risk.

Hopefully Duffy's back to tear them apart again, but if not then I hope Carruthers starts, scores, wins another penalty and makes Karl cry.

Lavery or Hanson is the difficult choice.

Be interesting to see how Ricky Holmes does.

With no pressure on them and the Valley not being particularly Happy right now, they may relish the opportunity to perform in front of a large crowd. TFG will also have noted last night's schadenfreude outbreak too.

That said,as ever, if we go about it properly we win.

Breaking team news!!!!!!!

11 will play, 11 will win and 3 points will be ours!!!!

Just about to jump in the shower, get my shirt and suit on, as we're sitting in the Westfield corner don't you know! , then it's pub o'clock!! Need to be well lubricated for all the cheering for 5 goals!!

I know there is no easy game but I've a feeling we'll find it a lot more difficult today, they've had 17 draws and only 10 wins so it wouldn't surprise me if they get a point or even another much needed win.

We can't win every game and you have to lose some, wouldn't be the end of the world either seeing as we've got a points gap as big as we've got. I'd rather it be today and against one of the division's biggest clubs.

Are you sure? They're 9 points clear of the relegation zone so hardly in the thick of it are they? Granted 21st place Vale have 3 games in hand but they'll not win all of those. Charlton's last win was only 3 games ago and they're unbeaten in 3.

Chris Morgan is there, with Michael Brown, until the end of the season

Six or seven points from these next three games and I am relaxed and confident.

I would like us to win this and the Oldham game though before the Milwall game a week on Tuesday as that fixture looks a tricky night both on and of the pitch.

Start Wright and Hanson, batter them for an hour 1-0, bring on Caolan, tear them to pieces, 3-0 at FT.

Easy thing this management!!!

Strong case for Lavery, but I suspect Hanson may partner Billy. Hope Duffy starts, he's been vital to our success this year, but in young Samir we have a young player with great potential. In many ways we have an abundance of riches, I can't recall the last time we had such a talented squad with talent in depth. Of course you always look to add and improve, but Wilder and his staff have done an excellent job of turning this club upside down until we were fit for purpose. Jury's out on Jay (is that short for Julian?) but only because I haven't seen enough of him. The little I've seen he definitely has something about him.

Back to today, c'mon Blades, no dropping of standards, no lack of focus, and get about Charlton and send a message to the Championship that the Blades are coming!!!

No Wright. That's disappointing. Especially as Charlton are at full strength with Byrne, Holmes, Novak and Watt. They have the players to hurt us.

This is where Wilder's selection policy seems questionable. Wright gets a bit of a concussion. We concede 4 in 2 without him. But EEL stays in the team because we won both those games.

Knew Hanson would start. Not sure whether I agree with it or not.

Duffy being back is the only undoubted positive.

No Wright is a worry, the defence doesn't look solid without him, Lafferty's gonna have a tough job dealing with Byrne, gotta make sure he doesn't drift to far forward

Huge win today, great work from the lads to bounce back after the disappointing start. Credit to Charlton they looked a v.good footballing side at times & gave us a good game today.

Delighted with the result!
The victory is all that matters
Definitely twitchy, Charlton looked more likely to get a second than we did getting the equaliser BUT we did it (and the chasing pack stuttered a little)

My mates a Charlton fan been to Lane today here's what he said "Gutted we lost as we were the better team. Sheff United were tight, I suspect they will struggle in the Championship."
