is already at the club.
It's Anel. Big, strong, good in the tackle and can carry the ball forward.
He has played there before and would provide protection for Norwood. Tonight was a battle and even with the 2nd half improvement we kept getting overrun.
This would allow Berge to play further forward in support of NDiaye and Oli.

Norwood and Doyle the dream team.

Not got the acceleration really. Players will run past him, so don't really think he'd work there. Bit like Bash really. We need someone with much more bite.

Better playing at the back, keep dipping Blasters toe in, he could be the lad your really referring too, just needs to keep up his work, and bulking up.
One for the next couple of years.

Doyle looks the answer, of him and mcatee, Doyle is the most united type player whilst mcatee will prove to be the more man city type player. Doyle showed he had experience whilst mcatee appeared a little apprehensive. Both will be very good players but for battles id play doyle and for games where it will be less testy id play mcatee

Having players that can control the ball first time when they receive a pass is the best way to counteract a pressing game

Pass move, pass move, pass move

We have criticised the team for the boring slow monotonous sideways and backwards passing, but when we should do it, we can't. Like when defending a lead, it's like the bloody Alamo if we try.

The difference is, some very good teams use this very deliberately and effectively to run the opposition around and tire them out, but then there is an explosive threat where it moves up through the gears suddenly.

When we do it it's never a comfortable feeling because it's more a case of the team running out of ideas than using it effectively to nullify the opponents.

There's always that feeling that one of them will miscontrol it, or slip and give the ball away.

We can sense it, so the players can, and as a result we get dragged into a scrap if our opponent wants to play that way.

File this suggestion with the ones asking for MGW to play in CM last season.

Surely Anel in defence and Bash in midfield would be a better version against alehouse teams.

Bash can come into midfield occasionally and help close things down, if we need to press and win the ball early. But it's very rarely looked effective over the course of a full game. Right now it might be the best option we have if we need to change smg tactically later in a match.
