We need to sign and buy/sell players! We've heard in the past how it is a disadvantage being in the play-offs, giving less time to re-shape the squad, well now we are looking like being behind even the play-off finalists in getting prepared. Writing off next season in my head already.

I agree. I personally think we'll struggle next season (based on the current squad and the lack of cash that will be available) and won't start to see the shoots of recovery until 2014/15. :(

you are absolutely correct, we should definately sell and replace our entire squad before we even know who the manager is and what his plans are...

Whilst your right if we did sell/release them the incoming manager wouldn't miss any of them!

Surely McCabe is as good at identifying players as he is at identifying managers? I don't see what could go wrong personally... :p

Personally I don't agree. The team that finished this season was missing motivation and hunger and after hearing the crap Wilson and Morgan told them you can see why.

I still feel we have a good team and if we get rid of the bad influence on it I feel they will feel a bit liberated.
Does anyone know when Miller or De Girolamo are expected to be fit?

Personally I would add a winger, striker and midfielder and set them off again and this time when we get injuries you use the youth just like every other team in our division and below has to do.

So Sheffielder the man who had us in the top 6 all season is to blame and a kid will solve all our problems?

Put the lighter fluid away will you.

Was failing - we should have been top of the league not top 6

Set sights higher - demand more

We are behind again and the excuses are being prepared for when the August window closes.

This is my worry. We need a Charlton style clearout but I think we'll be stuck with some of highly paid underperformers and some youngsters not yet ready (some are ready, others aren't).

We are expecting the new manager to pull rabbits out of a hat and I don't think they will be backed to do it.

Another year in L1 I fear.

The season finished yesterday and we're moaning that we haven't signed anybody.

Who's gonna sign them the fucking cleaner? FFS

We were top until someone sold our top scorer. Sheffielder, be a tool if you wish and don't listen to a word I say in your blind assumption I think it was successful, it wasn't but you clearly have no understanding of goes into success or failure. You seem to think its winning the league or bust. All that mattered is where we ended after game 46. Well after game 41 we had enough points and games left to get to that top 2. Unfortunately the decisions of McCabe made it such that 3 games later it all went tits up. Wilsons fault? Don't be a tit.

I'm sorry MB but because of new fair play to cleaners rules the gameplan of the club has to move to a new, self sustaining business plan which means we have to think a little more out of the envelope. However, we at SUFC PLC believe with a little blue sky thinking we can be successful with some natural shrinkage to the first team and promoting our up and coming stars to be the gamechangers of the future.

Through this we can maximise EBITDA and see our infrastructure grow organically.

Love, Kev.

I have no idea what you're trying to say

Yeah agreed, no excuse about lack of time this time round, I can't believe we are still waiting for a new manager. :(
Taking their sweet time.

I take your point about motivation, certain players like McDonald and Doyle perhaps, can clearly perform better. Certain players though, Porter and Flynn being two examples in my opinion, just shouldn't be in a first 11 challenging for promotion. We need pace and goals and midfield cover. So I would agree with the areas that you say we need to strengthen, but really need 2 new wingers and 2 new strikers and 1 new central midfield player. Miller and De Girolamo presumably won't be seen before Christmas.

Take your point Mattbianco, but if you can't have a good moan as a Blade then what can you do?

Remembering back to the conference when Morgan was announced as caretaker, the thing which was startling was how brazenly McCabe admitted that he never plans ahead for what division we might potentially be in. Paul Walker doing the interview (I think) seemed genuinely flabbergasted by this. I accept football is probably quite a fluid business but it's not that hard to plan for 2 different eventualities - promotion or non-promotion? Makes all this talk by Winter about having long-term plans etc complete guff - there is never a long term plan.

I think people miss the point completely with wanting pace in the team. If you have genuinely fast players that are good footballers too they will be playing at a higher level than Division 3. You're much better to have players that have the ability to move the ball around with pace. This comes with having a footballing brain which last season the majority in our squad do not possess.

Good point

Wilson wasnt failing. McCabe was the reason we didnt go up.

I disagree on both points. Wilson should have been sacked sooner. He was the bozo who signed Forte and Higginbotham. The confidence of the team was shot long before he was given the heave ho. I think him and the players need to take the blame.

I don't think it was solely McCabe's fault but selling your best player and then not wisely reinvesting that money in the team was stupid. Or even giving yourselves the time to find replacements. I do hold McCabe at least partially culpable for that.

I think the guy at Yeovil Madden or Ward when he came from Chesterfield are what people want not Kitson,Doyle types who have lost their pace.

Robinson to talk to his agent over a move to Utd according to Rob Staton's twitter. I'd be pleased with him

Things don't move fast at SUFC a few weeks are needed to identify the right man for the job ............................... a further few weeks are needed to realise we can't afford his wages, then more time is needed to draft in the cheapest option ........................................................ it's the Blades way.

I'd much sooner we take our time, if it produces the right man, than appoint yet another mediocrity (or worse) in a hurry.

Sorry the cash was needed to keep some of my other business enities afloat. We're in a recession you know.
