Where our defenders and midfielders turn into non-leaguers for 300 seconds - hopefully is a thing of the past now. No sign at all of them getting back into the game, and apart from maybe 10 minutes they were never on top. That's as a controlling performance away from home you're likely to see in this division. 2-0 but could've been more.

The back 6 as a unit were absolutely exemplary. What a 3 points.
Great to see Couttsy back too.

And - Billy Sharp scores goals. Fact, even though he nearly fluffed that first one :)

that was my main complaint despite 7pts from 9 that we stay concentrated for 90mins, as better teams wont lets us back in & they were brilliant last night as you say no mad 5 mins chucking away comfortable leads. instead that went to opposite site of the city

After we scored the back 6 became a back 9 with only McG or Billy staying up top. After the first we lined up with Billy, Norwood and Duffy ahead of Stevens, Fleck and Freeman

Nothing was getting through and then we were set up nicely for Coutts to slot in on the right of the advanced pack.

Interestingly when Leon and Washington came in Washington was running his arse off up front and Leon sat in the advanced 3

I noticed that.

Noteably Washington had a great chance to make it 3 and he looked like a full back infront of goal. Looked so unnatural to him and someone that's completely derrived of confidence.

Blackburn had A LOT of the ball in the 2nd half.

At HT it was 44% v 56%. At FT 54% v 46% that means we had the ball for around 16mins (36%) in the 2nd half (not accounting for time it was out of play). Harrison Reed rose into the game and their change of shape helped this.

Luckily, we contained them and they never really threatened us.

Good thing football isn't just about possession.

Yeah that was the one that Leon didn’t even attempt to get into the box as it looked like he was holding the shape

This was something I noticed and I think it was a little deliberate. First half we were creating a lot but second half they shut it down and putting men behind the ball, so we sat deeper, got into tight formation and let them have more of the ball.

Blackburn then had to come out more and got more confidence from doing so, but left themselves exposed at the back. The first goal meant that they had to attack more and take more risks, but what was great to see was our 3 banks of 3 snuffing out any chances in our final third and allowing us to make a steady break to get the second.

Having that confidence to give them more of the ball when a side is frustrating you really is something which I like to see

i think that is the first time we have allowed the other side a lot of time on the ball but not let them do anything with it. At no point during that second half did I feel like Blackburn were going to score as they struggled to get in behind us down the wing. The closest they got was the shot by Armstrong and even then we made that shot hard for him to take by closing him down. They ended up just launching the ball at us in hope towards the end but our defence just mopped it up.

I'd agree sway from home. We did that to Villa as well though
