Agree, he's another of these who live in the past. United are todays team with better support and better team. Couple of things he mentions are that we averaged less when they went up and we finished third. Didn't mention that when we went up our average was 21892 compared to their 21336. Also mentions their this season average. No mention this was based on 3/5 years season tickets after they nearly got promoted and that their footfall average is nowhere near that quoted. Been told by one of their admin staff that if non-attending season ticket holders were discounted the average would not be around 21000. Too many inconsistencies to believe the guy.

I thought the Lane opened in 1855 in order to host cricket. The '1885' seems to be a combination of the '1855' and '1889' when we were formed.

Genuinely think we have overtaken them support wise for a number of years. Being able to give more to away fans always bumped them up a bit and that couple of extra thousand available for the big games. How many tickets could we have sold for Ipswich? A lot more I’d say.

It is indeed magnificent but it’s actually inaccurate. The exact sequence post-Ipswich in December is WWWWLDWDWWWDWWWLWDDWWW.

That’s 15 wins, 5 draws and 2 defeats. 50 points from 22 games, an average of 2.27 points per game.

To put that in perspective, our stellar 2016-17 League One season saw us average 2.18 points per game.

It’s an absolutely superb second half of the season under intense pressure and it’s why that “bottlejobs” thread after the Millwall game was so unfair. Virtually the first thing Wilder said when interviewed on the pitch by Sky after the Ipswich game last week was to challenge the perception that we’d buckled at any stage.
