The logic of Clough??

I must admit to having been an admirer of Clough, but that was based on last seasons performances when he recruited wisely and set the team up to play to their attributes and ultimately dictate and dominate the opposition.
This season was subsequently expected to see us kick on, mmmmm
Three things ( and possibly more ) that I cannot comprehend:-

He states in the summer that he has the basis of a good squad which he will supplement with three or four players and then use the youth, mmmmm

He plays 4-5-1" with the emphasis on the lone striker being the guy to hold the ball up and bring others into play, but we have only had that type of player for three or four matches, yet rather than change the system to a system that suits the players at his disposal he persists with something which he effectively admits is not working as he does not have the physical striker. Mmmmm

He now admits that we lack strength and height, yet he bought the players and more importantly he then sets up to defend a lead with a defence which he admits is not capable of coping with stronger taller players. Mmmm

No logic no sense and soon no support in and out of the boardroom

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Get 7 or more points from the next three at home and everything will be hunky dory again.

He didn't know this league. Stupid decision appointing someone who's going to take this amount of time to get to grips with it. He'll be better next season but God knows if he'll last

Totalled baffled me how many players we did sign in pre-season, quantity over quality.

Instead of keeping the close knit group that we so successful and adding depth he rebuild the whole squad and has failed to recapture that spark..

If its not broken DONT fix it.

It was kinda broken though with Mac, Coady and Beard leaving over the summer.

Mind you he has gone overboard using three tins of Elastoplast where a couple of strips should have been sufficient!

Clough IMO would do well a level up, but can he get us out?

Should we have gone for experience to get us out then sacked whoever and run the risk of immediate relegation?
