Does anyone else feel a bit cynical about this or does anyone actually think we'll see any investment in the football team?

You would think football clubs would learn and actually wait for the money to hit their bank accounts before advertising on their sites. It would save face and a lot of embarrassment when it all goes pear shape as it often does.

Weve more chance of Sam from Iran returning with 10 Billion for us.

Yes the cynic in me says that this could be somat and nowt

This is not a successful Nigerian business man deciding to pump into SGIL up to $500m. This is a Nigerian business man who is expected to find investment to the tune of up to $500m!

Odd that the club choose deadline day to put up "good news" regards the future of the club

Even stranger, that despite the big hulabaloo on the club website, I can't find any reference to the news on the SGIL website. Yes, the cynic in me wants to know why if such an influential man as Mr Esan is to be invited onto the FC board as well as to be invited onto the Scarborough United Group board (a subsidiary of SGIL) that it has not been announced on there as well?

" Mr Esan will be working alongside the McCabes principally to facilitate the provision of capital from Nigeria permitting SGIL via SUG to further expand its businesses in real estate, leisure and services - with Football at its hub. It is envisaged that new funds of up to $500 million will become available within a six to nine month period for SUG to invest in all three business divisions and in particular in SUFC to assist in financing both First Team and Academy football. "

Sounds great really doesn't it? But how exactly? Bold, sweeping statements such as those placed on the SUFC website, surely require some form of explanation as to how this is achievable, simply because by putting it on the club website and opening up to the fanbase, then the fanbase deserve an explanation (although some might say they don't)

At the moment and for me, it literally reads like some pie in the sky, doomed to failure, half cocked notion, (a bit like Cloud 9 Sports!) rather than explaining the rationale behind how the heck $500m dollars is goner end up in the coffers over at SGIL with perhaps a little, just a little to be filtered down to the FC?

Having said all that, I hope for the best

Anyway, back to reality with possibly 2 loans when the window opens with a winger/midfielder being the #1 priority! :)

it was put on the site to try and divert from the fact we've sold one of our best players for fa...they really do think we're simple

I must admit, given the timing of this, along with the re-naming of the Bramall Lane stand, I do worry about McCabe. It's quite embarrassing at times.
