Although we didn't sign him in the January Premiership window as he was "out of our budget" we were also after David Nugent which could have been another one to push it nearer to the 40 mark if it wasn't already there. It was always a 5 strikers on the bench policy then play 4-5-1 hoofball at best that might make 4-4-2 with Stead or Webber somehow becoming a winger

I just used Transfermarkt as the source. I sorted the transfers by striker. Little is listed as a midfielder on there.

I wondered that when I saw him. Transfermarkt is clearly as good as Wikipedia

Warnock definitely brought Littlejohn back in the early 00's

As per Glen Little, didn't show as listed as a midfield.

So the new list is:

I'd take off anyone coming from the youth team as Warnock didn't sign them as such. That removes Mark Ward & Colin Marrison. Unless you want to include them, in which case you need to add Jon Forte and Billy Sharp to the list.

You're also missing Gary Mulligan (two league cup appearances in 2005/06...thanks Soccerbase!)
