How much of a pleasure is it to watch Coutts, Fleck and Duffy (aka the 'Holy Trinity') as a unit? They're almost telepathic in their ability to play together. I really think the first two must be close to a Scotland call up fairly soon, they're absolute quality. And Duffaldo has a superb footballing brain; Brooksy could learn a lot from him and how he makes space.

Looking at the team, it's full of partnerships and little units who look so cohesive. Really is a great time to be a Blade right now.

It's weird that individually they aren't that highly rated.
I still think that if we sold Coutts, Fleck or Duffy the fans at their new clubs would wonder what we were all raving about.

For me the secret ingredient is that they play together EVERY single match and know each other's game inside out.
They know that they've all got a good first touch, this means they can pass to their team mates even when they are semi marked up. It's the sum (unit) that functions better than its individual parts.

I've been watching United since 1975 and Duffy is already really high up in my list of all time favourite players.
He's so comfortable on the ball and so intelligent. He's a real joy to watch.

And Donaldson looked as though he's been with us for months!, ok, it's his first game and it can only get better, but 2 goals on your debut is the perfect perfect start go life as a bladesmen! Watching the wizard's kicking on in la liga, well, It's better than watching porn!

Duffy played most of his career as a winger who's skill was never doubted but he lacked pace, it's the much criticised Nigel Clough who first played him in the free role at Burton whilst on loan from Birmingham in their League one promotion campaign where he thrived.

Clough for some reason then inexplicably decided he wouldn't cut it at Championship level and decided not to take up an option to make him a full time Burton player.

Wilder and Kinill brought him into United to fulfil the same role, he is an outstanding footballer IMO.

If he is not my MOTM, he is runner up, always worth a starting place for me.

If that's the secret sauce, let's keep it as it is. They are a joy to watch.

It was actually Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Burton who first transferred Duffy into the free role, he recognised the similarities to Zola in that role.

It's not inexplicable that Clough would not realise Duffy's potential as a major creative attacking force as Nigel Clough wouldn't recognise progressive attacking football if it painted itself garish bright yellow and waggled it's cock in his face.

I said last year fleck was too good for league 1. He's actually too good for this league. Absolute class. The lad will play in the premiership.

Apparently Clough got the tits on with him because he wouldn't move nearer to Burton and preferred to commute from Liverpool.

Sounds about right for Clough.

If it was Jimmy who first moved him to that role then fair enough, the rest of the point still stands, one of the best players in the free role behind the strikers I have seen, stands along with Sharp and Coutts as the first name on the team sheet for me.

"What's that Neil? You'll loan us Paddy McCarthy, but he won't travel up for training, just the games? Sounds great – send him up...on Saturday"

I'd forgot about that lol. What a mess his second season was.

No chance, Fleck was at rangers and "Gordon Strachan is a wanker"

In the name of Chris Wilder, our Lord, Amen.

Oi 'The Holy Trinity' (Tm) was my name for Wilder, Knill & Mitchell get your own nick names.

Still prefer us to gerrit forud quicker and stop fannying about with it in the middle third.

Seems pointless passing it amongst ourselves sideways and back when we could hoof it towards their box and play the percentages.

Disagree actually. Coutts has been much better than Fleck thus far, Fleck has found it tough for the most part compared to him.

It's a pleasure to watch them - and a pleasure to see players who are all comfortable on the ball, and use it well.

Coutts has been outstanding so far. I wrote him off when he first signed - a completely different player now.

Coutts has been great at the start of this season but as for Fleck, he tries things that Coutts doesn't in more advanced areas and those things will not come off as much when you're playing against quicker and better players than he previously faced.

Fleck is playing to a great level again now he's adapted to the pace of the league, I think Coutts picked this up quicker due to him playing in the league before.
