The best is yet to come Harry's Game
The current squad is still a work in progress and I think we'll see a much needed loan striker in for the weekend. Whether its an O'Grady type player remains to be seen. Certainly the JTW will be a big test for Clough and the board.
We still need a Brayford replacement
We still need a Harry replacement
But now we certainly need a striker with the two recognised Strikers out injured.
Said the same in car on way home last night SwissBlade. The JTW is now (excuse the Wednesd*y mention) MASSIVE I feel.
As you say we need a Brayford replacement, as much as I don't mind Alcock I think he was/is a worthwhile addition to the squad as he can cover at RB & CB I just don't think he's got enough drive going forward to make us a force down that side.
We miss that right back running from deep & creating an outlet. Before Brayford there was Lowton, before Lowton the Kyle's yes we have been blessed with quality right back's who drive forward with purpose & only had the minor blip of McMahon in there for awhile.
The first thing Clough did when he came in was get rid of McMahon & replace him with Brayford which changed our one dimensional static play dramatically overnight.
Everyone saying what we miss most is a striker & it cannot be questioned that we do however the biggest miss for me is Brayford & Maguire coming out of defence, committing players & creating those gaps that we exploited so well last season when we went on the winning run.
Freeman would have been fine as a replacement as his mentality going forward was similar to Brayford but that deal is now dead in the water after McLaren & Clough's spat the last time the deal was due to take place.
Required in January (or now preferably!)
- Centre forward
- Brayford replacement
- Maguire replacement
