I went by tram today thinking I would be in good time. Unfortunately the trams got stuck in traffic so we got off early.

At Hillsborough Barracks there was a row of police not letting us through, hundreds of fans. Tempers were getting frayed as we were there for twenty minutes. A bizarre atmosphere, when Fleck scored jubilation followed by more frustration that we had missed it!

Finally we were allowed through, but only two turnstiles open. Cue more anger and cheers as we scored our second and we realised we had missed another goal. Finally they opened another turnstile.

But surely they should have delayed the kick off. The police said they were holding us back for safety reasons. Fair enough, but the order should have gone out to delay kick off as things could have turned nasty. A great day in the end, but am sorry that I missed the drama at the start.

That's really poor mate - sorry to hear that. Must have been very frustrating.

I guess Sky wouldn't have been keen to delay, and as pigs gave us a crap allocation they all figured that it was tough shit.
Hope you got away ok, but heard that you get held back for ages at the end.

Same situation. Spoke to two police officers of differing ranks. I suggested that it was deliberate policy to keep a large number of Blades away from the ground until they'd got all the Pigs inside. One replied that while he couldn't confirm that was the case, he certainly would not disagree with me. The other said he wouldn't say I was wrong.
The North East and West Yorks officers were far better than the locals, including the line of senior offices at Leppings Lane looking smug at their operation on the day. Bunch of desk jockeys in their best uniforms trying to look professional. Well sorry, you looked a bunch of amateurish cunts.

Anyway, even those imbeciles couldn't spoil the day. FTP and well done to the players and our supporters who backed the team to the hilt.

Yes we were held back for ages but didn't care about that lol! It was quicker getting to Bolton and back a few weeks ago than it was to get to Hillsborough and back!

Missed first 2 goals and got caught in the rush to the single turnstile that was open. Joke operation all around.

But I am sure the star will find something to pin on the "hooligan" fans, at the end of the day I witnessed Duffy silencing 25k pigs. Beautiful. Happy days.

We were on the second tram of the lot that were stopped, thankfully one of the Durham lot under pressure from Blades fans asked the driver to temporarily open the doors...

We nipped off and in a stroke of genius into Morrisons car park, back through the shops and out the other side of the corden... Still had to rush to get in just in time to see the first.

When we got there, all turnstiles were open and I could overhear the coppers talking about what was happening.

To close turnstiles, fully aware they'd held Blades back to ensure they missed kickoff is ridiculous.

We went straight through Hillsborough corner and onto Leppings Lane, safely and saw nowt. Unless we were fortunate to miss it by seconds, I've not the foggiest as to what they were 'protecting' from, but will ask.

The SYP caused more trouble today than any set of fans, even the most calm person would lose their temper, paying £40+ to miss the first 20mins.

Think the fact we get treated like criminals before we have commited a crime is sickening, but say anything and there is a chance of getting locked up. Congrats on dodging the escort... you are living proof we can make it to the turnstiles without murdering somebody ;)
