The dodgy match

I was talking to a bloke at work today who was from Liverpool and we got talking about football ,He's an Everton fan and I told him I am a Blade He said oh you got Relegated in 94 because of that dodgy match when we played Wimbledon, I said do you think something was going on then? He was absolutely convinced something wasn't right that day.

Why?

What happened. Where did you meet your mate ? University?

Bet time flies by at work if you have to go back to the early 90s for something to talk about.

Forget it

S24 Tip #237

Timing is everything when it comes to getting a reaction to what you post.

If the subject matter is of a historical and negative or contentious nature, try to avoid times when the team is doing well. Posting close- season after we've been cruelly relegated or missed out on promotion is by for the better option, particularly in the early hours and over a weekend.

And finally, never underline more than two words because it makes the text harder to read and is guaranteed to piss off the membership.

I hope this helps and welcome to the board Arthur. :)

For the record I agree that was one hell of a dodgy game.
I'm certain if we had been involved there would have been an enquiry on the scale of The Nurembourg Trials and our board, management and players would probably have all been executed.

I thought it was going to be the one where Fashanu thought it was ok to play basketball in the area <and the useless c**t of a ref still only gave 1 penalty>... oh wait on that was Wimbledon as well ...

Remember that game well. Another cracking Blades turn out. Shit ground but sadly missed.

Yep, I was there. That would have been 8 wins on the bounce I think? Ended 1-1.
The ref (Paul Danson?) described it after his retirement as the strangest game he had ever officiated.

Paul Durkin

I was stood with the Wimbledon fans behind the goal when Fash handled twice. Knew something wasn't right too

This was my first ever football match at the tender age of 10. It's been a love fest with United ever since...
