The defence

Well, you certainly don't need my permission. I must say that, to me, he seems to be a man of sound common sense and impeccable judgement.
A man who likes just about every post on this thread quoted against me I would say is a weirdo. There's simply no doubt about that.

Outstanding again tonight.

Blackman and Wright were the standouts, Wright gets in front of just about anything. Blackman collected EVERYTHING in the box - they might have got a totally undeserved point otherwise.

Baldock, CCV another good in their first league starts.

All round another good defensive performance.

I think the options we have at the back now are excellent.

We basically changed 60% of the back line last night and still gave a good performance. Maybe took a while to settle into it, but the consistent part was Wright.
Just shows what a strong and responsible personality can achieve over ability alone. He might not be blessed with pace, skill and passing ability, but his ability to read the game and direct others more than makes up for it.

The learning he will be passing on to the young lads around him will be priceless. Baldock, JOC, CCV, Heneghan....all will benefit hugely.

It will be interesting to see who plays centre half tonight against the "washing machine at Bolton. Our new CCV, or 6ft 4inch lad, Henanigan might be big enough to turn him into a tumble drier. ;)

CCV certainly kept Madine under his control, and managed to score the winner in his spare time. I bet the washing machine was frightened to death of him, I am & he is on our side. Poor little Gary saw more of the grass than the ball.

Poor little Gary likes grass......allegedly.

Apart from his elbow on JOC in the last 10, what a wanker he really is.

Pinchy is far from "fucking stupid" I can assure you.
A very intelligent bloke with a mischievous sense of humour.
Depends how old you are as to how you react I guess.
As I'm one of our older members I can shake my head and smile at some of his contributions.
I usually agree with his views however (other than Monty, and I gave up years ago with him on that subject).

We genuinely haven't looked like conceding for the last 4 games. The goals we have conceded have both been injury time consolations that we barely deserved to concede.

The defensive personnel is very much the same as last season yet despite playing considerably better opponents we appear to be conceding less chances. They've certainly upped their game, the entire team have, and it's going to be interesting to see just how long they can continue improving and rising to the challenge.

It seems that the longer they play together, the better they get. I don't think there's a team in the division whose teamwork matches ours.

Our fitness is spectacular too.

The likeness between us and Huddersfield last year (minus the Germans) is uncanny.
