Interesting comments by Mawwhinney on the OS.

Be interesting to see how important you all see the Blades in your budgets?

I've had periods of unemployment and times when I've been really skint.

I've always managed to get to all home matches but I'll admit at times the away matches have to be missed.

I'm missing some away games at the moment to upgrade my satellite system......to see more football.

What do you give up/gain from going or missing games??

From the OS.................

Football League Chairman Lord Mawhinney has encouraged League clubs to be economically prudent in the year ahead, as the effects of the worldwide Credit Crunch take hold.

Speaking to Sky Sports News following the publication of The League's Agents' Fees Report for 2007/08, which revealed that clubs committed £11m to agents last season, the former cabinet minister said:

"I think this is going to be a difficult year, economically, for a lot of clubs - not because they are run badly, but because the national economy is not in good shape.

"I have been a member of parliament for 26 years, and I understand the pressures on the budgets of ordinary people up and down the country.

"People spend money on things that they are interested in, or that excite them, but they also spend that money only after they have dealt with the fundamentals of life.

I have tried to go to every home match since I started following the Blades in 1981. It used to be pay on the day but I got my first season ticket in the 90/91 season. I had to give that up virtually straight away when we bought our house, but then started again in 1994, had one ever since.

Don't go to many away matches because of financial constraints (2 kids, mortgage etc.) Would love to go to every match of every season and would if I could afford it. My best season attendance wise was 1989/90 (promotion season) missed 2 games all season. It would be interesting to know how much I spent following the Blades that season.

Finally got the hang of quoting only part of someones post. BB the fucking IT wizard!:D

I started constructing a spreadsheet for this season earlier :), so I may update, providing I don't get scared into abandoning the plan :)

I really do dread to think!
