In the past I’d have already regretted this before I’d posted it. And the superstitious bones of me are insisting that I make full body contact with wood while even thinking it. But there’s been a feeling around the club for a few weeks now, since we turned around our pre-Christmas slump, that is so reminiscent of 2016/17 in Lg 1. And now I’m starting to believe it.

Our result today places enormous pressure on Dirty Leeds. They are fragile and flawed. Apart from a horrible 10 mins v Villa, we look resolute and purposeful in comparison.

Fuck me, the Blades are going up

Do you know what, I'm delighted whatever happens. Never felt like this as a Blade; there's always been expectation of failure or indeed success in some seasons.

Despite what happened last season and the hopes we deservedly had this, I was of a view that consolidation would be quite a reasonable achievement. But we've been incredible.

Don't get me wrong, if we drop from the top 6 between now and the end of the season, that will be painful. But I'll be over the moon if we're involved in the playoffs at the end of it.

I personally don't expect top 2 (West Brom, Wednesday and Leeds away are all very tough in their own ways), but I certainly won't rule it out.

I think it will be West Brom plus one other for the autos. We have some tough away games coming up which will make or break our chances of the autos. Four points out of the next two away games would be great. WBA have us and Leeds in their next 3 games. 9 wins for the autos ?

It made me cringe tonight listening to P&G when the first 2 United fans to call said they were sure we’re going up and looking forward to oremiership away games. Wasn’t quite sure if serious or tongue in cheek but there’s still so long to go till anything is a surity. Massive games coming up against West Brom & Leeds still, how we fare against those will be the real determining factor. Plus not giving away daft points like we have done at times this season. One game at a time, West Brom to focus on now

One game at a time and all that but I have to say things are looking very good. To leave your 30 goal strike pairing on the bench and thump anyone 4-0 shows very decent squad depth. Reading might be poor but you beat what it in front of you and in all honesty it could have been 5 or 6 easily today.
We grabbed them by the throat at 45 seconds and barely let go for most of the match. They had the odd spell of retaining the ball well but Deano could have sat back and smoked a fat one quite frankly.

Way we are playing at the moment though we may well run rings round the football Gods too.

Sure there will be a few twists and turns before the end of the season.

I am confident tough that the players do have the desire to get promoted. If they can do so is another matter but they have proved they are up for it.

The thing I liked today was the fact we got more miles in the squad player's legs and it like we had a proper partnership up top in the front 2. There were moments of great interplay. Overall, wasn't 100% perfect, scrappy in places, but excellent in others. CW made some brave calls today, and was proven correct. Hogan is a welcome addition.

Today and Wednesday night were huge results, and now the dust has settled, a point against Villa, when viewed as part of our results in the last 14 games is ok. WBA is huge next week, a proper 6 pointer, and the hawthorns is a place i always see as a bogey ground. The cluster of local derbies against Rotherham, Wednesday & Leeds, will be interesting. If we are sat with at least another 5 points after the next 3 games, I'll start to seriously believe.

I still think Norwich and West Brom have the edge. I’m not worried about us against the big sides anymore though so the play-offs don’t concern me like they used to.

Steady on, we aren't even top 2 yet if Leeds even draw their game in hand!

It's two from five, we're in with a shout but no more than that.

That boring fucker Sean on PoG started this. He’s worse than Ian the Eckington, former Blackpool, Blade.

I'd have felt a bit more confident if West Brom didn't win at Villa
Top result that in a local derby with the pressure on

I thought those giving it the big'un on Radio Sheffield were trolling to wind up the pigs.

Fair play to think we are as good a bet as any team, but no team in this division this season should think they're already up.

At least it pissed off the pig who phoned in after. He sounded almost suicidal , bleating on about how his team are finished.
