You know what, i honestly believe we will go up this season. Why?? Cos thats how football is. I just have a feeling that we will finish in the top 6 and win (yes thats win) the play offs!!

I was very sceptical after the Reading game......yes we won by a comfortable scoreline but the evidence of our frailties was there for all to see. I thought West Brom would hammer us and, unfortunately, was right.

I believe we have set our stall out now. The Nosworthy and Kallio signings will give us that extra edge we need to secure a play off place. Also as other players recover from injuries and fitness improves, we will be even stronger.

Then, well....... i wonder whether town will be ready for a Blades playoff celebration! It will be reminiscent of Leicester all those years ago

I think this has been a good transfer window for us with some astute signings and only Killa gone which was a no brainer anyway.

I dont understand the fuss about Naughton; even if he had come he would have gone back at the end of the season. We need to build a team we can keep and buld on. We have suffered this season as the team fell apart after the play offs - hopefully even if we dont get promotion that wont happen again.

I don't think we are building a team this season, I think we are re-profiling the club.

Blackie has effectively got two jobs, both of which he is doing quite well at.

1 Cut the wage bill
2 Keep us near the top.

I know the football is 'safe' not exciting but he has a job to do and he is delivering.

The other thing that doesn't seem to be touched on is that this season we have so many loans in because McCabe might not want to give Blackie the money to spend. Perhaps he is saving it for the next guy. Blackie gets a nice bonus for delivering and goes on his way with the wage bill cut and us still in the Championship. Next season with a new manager we have a proper go at it but without breaking the bank??

The only way we are going to stand a chance of getting in the play-offs is if we get a winning 11 and keep it. There has been too much chopping an changing from game to game recently. There is a lot to be said for a settled side.

I've thought about that. Weekend trip in the mountains including Liberec away and a great kebab? Or a day out in Ipswich?

Hmm

A lot was said the other week about our inability to perform in front of a big crowd.

So if we get to Wembley again I suggest that we take 25,000 to somewhere hot, maybe Malta, McCabe will pay for us and watch it on a big screen in a bar, leaving our end of Wembley completely empty

Can I just ask Grumpy - are you seriously suggesting that Blackwell deserves some sort of acclaim for keeping us in the Championship? When he has spent millions on strikers in the last 2 summers, when he is still after all the cuts operating with a huge budget in CCC terms?

Totally agree we get rid in the summer but it aint going to happen. KB is in his dream job - the best he will ever do and McCabe is very happy to have a manager who knows that and who might make the odd moan but in general will be very compliant in terms of making do - in fact Blackwell thrives on the potential for excuses afforded by McCabe's re-profiling.

Oh dear, looks like someone spoke too soon!?

Nurse! The screens!

Dont i feel a silly boy.........*note to self - dont ever get optimistic or excited cos as a Blades fan, you just know a kick in the bollox is waiting for yer*

Cant believe Walker has gone, but i suppose you reap what you sow - take the money, but dont be surprised if Spurs want their ball back.

Blades to finish 7th and a few sour pints down Ipswich way

Absolutely Olly - I was actually very happy last night I thought we had a good transfer window for once. I dont think anyone saw this one coming least of all KB and for once I feel sorry for him as well as us. I think Spurs have acted disgracefully. Isnt a loan recall for need usually eg injury. To loan one Kyle out to a competitor and recall the other from us is franky plain nasty and christ knows where it leaves us. Like you I will be freezing at Watford tonight but I am looking forward to it a lot less than I was at 8pm yesterday
