the same warnock that took us from avg 14k to 25k+ attendances
the same warnock that gave us great memories against leeds wednesday liverpool and forest.
the same warnock that took us to semi finals and play off finals

yes he made mistakes but he gave the club heart and passion and with a warnock team you all ways had a chance you all ways believed.

so many memories :thumbup::D:thumbup:

thank you warnock

I would also say that although the football at Bramall Lane under Warnock might not have suited the footballing purists (or if you prefer - snobs) of this world, at least it was entertaining for most of the time. A lot more entertaining than the vast majority of what I've watched since he left.

Warnocks budget when he left would have been higher than what is is now (for obvious reasons)

What Warnock's budget was the season before or in previous seasons I have no idea but players like Jags,Tonge,Shipperley,Webber,Kenny,Short etc would have been on similar money(if not more) than many of the squad now wouldn't they ?

Total club wage bill shown in 2006 accounts - £15.156 million.

Total club wage bill shown in 2009 accounts - £24.988 million.

So the answer would appear to be that no they weren't!

Hypothetically, I think the return of Warnock would be the only action the club could take that would go some way towards ending my current apathy towards the Blades.

Warnock took over as I was just about old enough to start taking a real interest in United, so to go from a yorkshire born and bred, quick witted, egotistical, borderline mentalist for all those years to Robson, (surely the closest a human being has come to sharing the personality traits of a tree), was rather confusing.

To me growing up, Warnock and United were almost one entity.
Yes, he moaned, he blamed anybody, or anything, but himself, his team selections were, to say the least, baffling at times.

BUT, I loved him. With him in charge, I genuinely felt anything was possible. I went to cup games against Arsenal and Liverpool with a genuine expectation to get something out of the game. Even if we weren't to get something, we'd be entertained would we not? I miss those midweek nights with the Kop booming and G+H blocks, even the far side of the John Street stand up and singing! Something tells me we won't see those nights again for a long time to come.

I loved the media attention we'd get under Warnock. Many say they hate Warnock but I think he's one of those people that deep, deep down, any football fan has a large amount of respect for. Writers know this and it made us, and him, big news

For the first time ever, I woke up saturday morning and, to be honest, hardly even entertained the idea of going to the game. A decision that, even more surprisingly to myself, I didn't regret, despite hearing how well we played. Under Warnock, the thought of even missing the kick off by a few minutes would get me panicking!

These apathetic feelings have consistently grown since Warnock left, to the point now where I can find better things to do than going to the lane. I'll always be a die-hard Blade. I just hope that it's sooner than later that the club take some form of action to bring back the feelings I used to get from watching United.
I'm back at uni in Durham next October so I don't see me renewing this year... Perhaps if we see the return of the moaning messiah!

UTB and all that!

The biggest bollock dropped at BDTBL was surely the last dozen games in the PL? Had those been managed in a merely half competent manner where would we be now?

Just realised I've quoted 2008's wage figure. The 2009 figure is slightly less - £24,867 million

Haa haaa haaa, Warnock leaving a mistake? I wouldn't have him near the club. Mr Super Blade takes every opportunity to knock us and is just a bitter and twisted old man.

If he was that good how come no one has ever taken him to a Premiership club? He constant whinging and whining that life isn't fair on him, that everyone has it in for him, that referees have vendettas with him etc etc etc.

Biggest mistake McCabe ever made was letting him manage us in the Premiership. Should have shook his hand and waved him goodbye when we had the chance.

Warnock got us relegated with his stupid signings like Nade, Seck, Kilgallon (wrong time for an untried defender) and countless other no marks he signed. He shied away from signing good players because they might alter his beloved dressing room.

Warnock was quantity over quality. Remember how Suffo was the best thing since sliced bread then shuffled out the door when it suited?

Problem with Warnock is, it was always about Warnock. Never about SUFC.

Dave Bassett was a man with passion, working on a limited budget with a board who never backed him. That man was a legend. Warnock shouldn't get a mention next to that man.
