Well done to those who produce our matchday programme, definitely the best in the league. A nice touch that when put in order there is a picture of Blades Legends including Shred.

I’m a regular reader of the football programme and can’t complain about the content but I really think the font size is too small and the reversed out printing is almost unreadable at times. I much preferred the programmes when they were larger and easier to read. I do have to declare I’m in my 70s but I don’t think it’s all about my eyesight!

Reading the programme did persuade me to start wearing glasses!

A nice one on Friday

"There will be a special cover for Friday's edition of UTB - United's official matchday programme.

Just a week shy of the 100th anniversary of United's FA Cup triumph against Cardiff City, we have produced a commemorative cover for the game against the same opposition.

The image shows the two captains shaking hands before kick-off at Wembley with United going on to win 1-0 thanks to a goal by Fred Tunstall.

The United skipper on the left is the iconic Billy Gillespie, with members of his family attending the game on Friday. He's pictured shaking hands with his Cardiff counterpart Jimmy Blair.

Copies of Friday's programme are available to pre-order online now via our production partners Ignition Sports Media here - click here."

Why did Gillespie's shorts have pockets? And what did he keep in there during the match? Packet of woodbines?

This is why I love Sheffield United, and why I think I should chuck in this living down south malarky and head back home.
