Too much meltdown v clapping for my liking on here tonight.
Here’s the breakdown:-
1. Coutts was hugely important. He determined the tempo at which we played, made important interceptions and looked after the ball when the final pass wasn’t on. He recycled everything and kept attacking momentum going.
Without him, our % of successful assists is clearly less as the final pass is being delivered into less threatening positions now. We are also far easier to penetrate now as we are pulled out of shape more due to his absence.
2. Wilder needs to sacrifice some of his pride for a point when the three points aren’t on. Basham’s substitution to chase the game was a bad decision and it cost us. It’s not the first time that has happened although admittedly he has earned the right to be forgiven for it up to this point. That will start to wear thin if this run continues.....not with me but with the supporters in general. Football fans are fickle.
3. We were a directionless club in the third tier two years ago. Smile.
