Reasons to be cheerful - we’re actually doing slightly better against the same or equivalent opposition as when we were last in the Premier League and can afford to lose the next 3 games without falling behind the pace 😁

Given that going off to the last few seasons, getting 36 points looks like it will be enough to stay up we only need to do the following:

Win at home against: Everton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Luton, Fulham, Burnley, Forest, Villa
Win away against: Fulham, Luton, Brentford
Draw at home against: Wolves, West Ham
Draw away against: West Ham

On paper that does not seem very hard to do, and we can get bonus points against the likes of Man City, Liverpool etc. as well ;)

Match 3 - 3 matches and 3 defeats - but getting better week on week, roll on Everton
Match 4 - Our first point and our first “green“ of the season, a point better than last time.

Just to be a pedantic excel twat, your last column formula isn't working as it needs to carry down the +1 cumulative difference from the Everton match to the cells below.

Either that or the cumulative values in column F need to be copied down to the bottom.

All feedback gratefully received, thank you, I’ll sort it 😁

A gutting end to another encouraging performance. I‘m abroad and resisted the urge to tune in until I saw that we were winning with 96 minutes on the clock 🤯

In a parallel universe we hold out against Spurs, McBurnie doesn’t get sent off, Newcastle’s first goal is disallowed and we avoid an 8-0 drubbing. But in this one we record 2 reds, with the only consolation being that we have 5 “free hits” before we need to earn any points to match our last season in the Premier League.

Better result than last time but little comfort other than that, the season is starting to look depressingly like groundhog day….
